This.

Vampires should not sparkle nor be all glammed up like in interview with a pusspire...erm i mean vampire.

Vampires should be mean nasty ugly horrible pure killing machines.

but...but...but...the sparkling is pretty....

I like the sparkling 2, but the sun being dangerous makes the book more exciting. (Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise are pretty too lol)

Well... your just a... weredousch :neenerneener:

Staying 22 forever doesn't sound too bad, but you'd have to constantly move so people don't catch on to the fact that you don't age.

At any rate, I read all those Twilight books. The best part is the vampire sex. Although, I think the werewolf boy is hotter.

Only two people have captured the power, evil intent, and seductiveness of the classic vampire. They didn't use sparkles. They used acting to convey the character of a vampire and they used it quite well.

Bela Lugosi and Frank Langella.

I think that if I really feel in love with someone that much, that living forever frozen in time wouldn't be so bad.

As for Twilight, I liked the series. Read it before it became widely popular. It's not the best literature out there, but it's a fun read. I too am hoping the second movie is better then the first was.

I recently read the first two books. And because i'm not a 13 year old tween, I definitely think they are much better than the movie 🙂

This says everything..^

Twilight just plain blows as a serious Vamp story..as a 2 bit romance novel perhaps, but not as anything with substance of any kind...

Considering these books are sold in the Young Adult section of bookstores, feature characters that are all in high school, and whose audience is made up of junior high school age girls, I think we're all a little relieved that you don't like them.

Glad you are relieved...lol..literature it isnt...:harleyhugsjoker:

I don't think anything written past the 13th century qualifies as literature anymore.

Don't try to deny it. Lord Ruthven or Dracula would totally kick the shit out of any of the frilly vampires in their lacy shirts with their poofy hair-dos. In fact I'd wager Lucy Westenra would kick the shit out of Lestat.

I've always been a fan of vampires since I was around, oh, 7 or 8 years old...about a decade before I even knew Twilight existed. Now, don't get me wrong, I've read all 4 books and I enjoyed them, but I've read plenty more vampire books and other fantasy/fiction that are much more impressive, both in storyline and character development. The movie was, well, shit in my opinion, but it makes a good party game (take a shot every time there's an awkward pause or delayed line). =]

With that being said, I am a huge vampire fan (non-sparkly, thank you), and if my true love was a vampire, I would definitely want to be bitten and turned. Hell, even if he/she wasn't my true love, I'd still want to be turned, but that's just how I am.

In regards to Edward...Buffy can stake him for all I care. 🙄

I truly do feel that I need to drive this point home.
Kain owns everyone.

Of course. Twilight isn't just some introduction to Vampires. 🙂

Midnite Cafe has been around a hella lot longer.

lawl. So true.

But the first movie was a little bit dissapointing. Hopefully they've got their act together for the second one. :blackrose:

They're not using the same director for the second one. Hopefully that should help. From the looks of the preview trailer, it already looks different in the sense that there's no blue-cast to everything, like there is in almost any other film where the setting is Washington. Everything's got more of an earthy hue. I wonder if that's to take some of the attention from the vampires to emphasize the werewolves. I dunno.

I don't plan on reading the books, since ever since we watched the movie, my wife suddenly got addicted to the books, and now I get a daily play-by-play, and all I ever hear in the car anytime we go anywhere is the Twilight soundtrack.

Since I've gone completely off on a tangent, to answer the question, no I would not desire to become immortal, even if the person I was in love with was. To me, humanity and mortality is important, because a short lifespan pressures us to actually live and experience things while we can. In order to fully appreciate the gift of life, death must accompany it. I'd rather not have it in the form of all those around me that I care about, dying.

I think immortality would get boring after awhile, things would become predictable. And in that sense aggravating. A lover would make the time fly quite a bit. But then they would be too predictable too. Then what? With old age you rely on your partner to look out for you, and you look out for them, but as an immortal vampire, you're self sufficient. Plus living on the death of others would be a bit depressing.
I agree the movie wasn't as good as the book. I wished the actor for edward didn't look constipated for most of the movie. He also acted a bit too slow for how I imagined. I was thinking a darker more sinister looking guy, with quick wit and movements.

If you ever get tired of emo, sparkly, fake vampires, and whiny teenage girls, I have some book/movie recommendations for you.

If any of the frillpires from twilight ran into buffy. They would stake themselves from being scared shitless.
