Who Else Has A Ton Of Shit To Do Before NEST?

Well at least for me I will be getting 80% done this week. Not only do I need to pack for NEST but an extended stay with my lovely girlfriend at her house when I come back.

So I have a bunch of clothes to pack (most staying at her house)
Clean entire house.
Mow the lawn (YEAH YEAH...You make a comment, I shall not forget)
Unplug everything except fridge.
Turn off Hot water heater, set AC to like 85
Event on Thursday to take care of
Throw all food out Fridge I have not eaten
Re-pack Toy Bag
Get Mani-Pedi (Yes gentlemen, we should look our best as well)
Hair cut
Finish gift shopping/making
Food, drinks and snacks for Room/Roomies
Snack and sammichs for long drive up...I wonder how much NG02 eats.....

Ill be leaving my house Friday...and not coming back for close to a month, so yeah it seems closer for me. I have 3 more days to get stuff done. Damn......not as much time as I would like.

Rob

I can't beat a nice 80 minute nonstop from Columbus to Philly, it costs about as much as I'd pay in gas these days and no one has to worry I'm lost somewhere between Columbus and Neptune 😛

On my way home from your house in November, I almost swore off road tripping. It took me 12 hours to make the 7 hour trip home  Note to self: Getting virtually no sleep for 5 days + trying to drive 7 hours alone = no bueno.

Skip next time if you have no one with on the drive you are going with me. No arguing either! That's just insane!

I would like to add that my insanely long list is coming along just fine 😉

Just make sure to bring my fan. :rainbowbounce:

Glad it is all coming alone well Lee.

Oh and your running shoes...we all know Natural will run again, so this time you can be better prepared.

I've got a lot to do - but the good news is, I've got just over a year to do it!

I just need to pick up a few "special gifts" and a few nukables in case I get hungry between meals at the hotel. Then pack my beat up 40 year old suitcase and head east.

Ugh this thread is reminding me of all the shit I still have to do lol.

Plus Thursday night before I fly the next morning I have a band concert...

I wore one of LeeAllure's dresses to my very first NEST in April of '99; it was my first time flying alone, the airline lost my bag and didn't deliver it 'til about halfway through the Sunday party :evileye: Since then I rarely check bags and NEVER check anything I can't afford to be without during the weekend. Having said that, as much as I love roadtripping I can't beat a nice 80 minute nonstop from Columbus to Philly, it costs about as much as I'd pay in gas these days and no one has to worry I'm lost somewhere between Columbus and Neptune 😛

It's about an 8.5 hour drive for me from Cincy. I love listening to books on CD and bringing however much luggage I want, stopping wherever I want for lunch, and even going to some quaint stores I see along the way. Plus having wheels is win :happyhop: And I get to leave whenever I want 😀

Paying for flights out of CVG only means Delta - and I DO check bags. That would have been $300 for airfare+luggage... if I spend that much in gas, shoot me! Add in $40-50 for the tolls, and I still come out ahead. I've flown out of Columbus with mixed results - it took me over 24 hours to get to California one time :sowrong:

I need to wash all the clothes I'm taking with me. I need to decide what lingerie and stockings I'm packing. I still have to pack in general. I also have to get my bondage and tickle paraphernalia together. I have to buy few more things at Walmart the night before. I also need to take off my old toe nail polish and redo it the night before. I will hopefully be getting a haircut tomorrow.

I need to ***** myself to 1000 fat chicks to earn NEST money. But so far it's coming along.

Fuck flying. I'll roadtrip anywhere anytime, but planes are a pain in the ass.

I hate flying too, but FUCK ROADTRIPPING. I get carsick WAY too goddamn easy if I'm not driving. Ideally I'd take a full-on train, which is THA SHIT, but it would take as long as a car ride.

AND I AM NOT TRUSTING MY CAR IN PHILLY! Jaysus Kreest I can't imagine living in Philly let alone DRIVING AROUND IN IT! I'll stick to my side of the Mississippi where interstates go in straight lines thankyewvurrymuch!

My rule of flying: don't pack what you can't carry on.

As for my to do list, it's pretty small:

laundry within 24 hours
packing (natch)
porn
tracking down and picking up one more specialty item
TSA-safe toiletries
black video tapes
moar porn
packing camera gear after charging batteries
withdraw traveling cash
clip nails
last of the porn
shave
finish updating catalog of 'lees and target areas for field reference (Aimee is first both alphabetically and points-wise this year, :firedevil, BlackestLily not far behind)
dramamine, Dramamine, DRAMAMINE!

We love road trips like that if we'll be staying for a week or more, like when we take the family to Vermont or New York and we actually need wheels and lots of luggage, but just me flying the quick hop over to Philly wins, its gives me much more time to spend with my family here and my friends there 🙂 I wouldn't really get to leave whenever I wanted however I was traveling since I have to be home at a reasonable hour to open my business the next day, lol, I prefer having more of Monday to be with NESTers than in the car 😎

this...scares me! not only am i flying for the first time, i'm flying alone. i know everyone says it's easy...but i have a tendency to fuck up the simplest thing! :wharblgarbl:

second..
don't pack what you can't carry on.
are you saying i should only have 1 bag and that that one bag should be my carry on?
one bag? for 4 days? ONE BAG? that is not going to happen!!
i hope my shit doesn't get lost, but at the same time i can't possibly fit everything i need into one carry on! i'm so confused on how this freaking works! 🙁

It's easier than it sounds, sweetie. If you take one suitcase/bag that fits into carry-on plus one other bag (Libby's old Powerpuff Girls backpack has been to at least 4 NESTs, lol) you'll be fine, I manage a full 4-day wardrobe plus umpteen pairs of shoes every year that way 😀

I second that it's easier than it sounds - I can pack 10 days worth of clothing,
shoes and personal items into a 19" carry-on, and then put necessities, wallet stuff and laptop/electronics into the "personal item" the airlines allow.

(I think I pack fewer shoes than Bella does 😉 )

What Lee said, I don't have a laptop but I've brought my video camera AND lights plus everything else with just those two bags  . You *do* have to learn the Art of Packing; a friend taught me just how to roll jeans and other could-be-bulky items and pack them around shoes and lights and such to they fit and protect my equipment. And if it needs to be ironed it prolly ain't goin' to NEST, life's too short for that 😉

Perhaps we need LeeAllure and Bella to teach a packing your suitcase class at NEST.

🙂

Advice: don't bring a steel hammer in your carry-on luggage......

Did it....don't recommend it.
