Probably both at this point. As I said earlier mods tend to be a lot more restrained than me, and right now, the mod staff is as large as it's ever been.

I think the second is more pertinent though.

But anyway, that's a cogent point Chimp. I may be popular in certain quarters, but the criteria are many and I'm pretty sure that popularity would'nt be among them. Outright hatred from the rest of the Forum would probably be undesired, but leaping popularity doesn't count one way or the other.

Being popular might make people expect you to take sides in a debate instead of remaining impartial. *shrugs* It is nice to see so much support though.

I suppose we could. I don't think it would influence the decision one way or the other though. Mods aren't selected for their popularity or by public demand, Myr chooses who he thinks would would be best at keeping things civillised. Given that I'm often at the centre of heated debate, he probably thinks I'm unsuitable.

Maybe I even partiallyagree with him. But as Joby-Wan Kenobi said, being modded would change my attitude to posting in general. I've always had the desire to "serve a cause", I think I'd adjust if needs be.
