Wrestlemania thoughts?

They're planning a 25-diva battle royal. It's going to include past divas. I'm sure 15 of them will be eliminated in 1 minute.

I Think they handled the end of the michaels\kozlov match very very poorly. Dominance till a punch off the turnbuckle and then elbow\superkick? Almost looked like Michaels cant even work a match anymore. Also, any place they wanted to take Kozlov died with that loss

Seeing as Koz had beaten Taker I felt they kinda backed him into a corner. He had to lose this match or it would have set up a 3-way which no one wanted to see. He had to beat Taker to set up any kind of value to this match and I agree with your analysis about it being handled poorly. Sadly, I think he will interfere in the HBK-Taker match and ruin it but also setting up future rematches and boring 3-ways.

I think Steve Austin will stomp a mudhole in Jericho. Seeing as he will be inducted and become an official "legend" it seems a good possibility, more so than any of the other legends. But who knows. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Just me, but I'm getting tired of the predictible gang beat downs and Jericho beating up an old legend every week. It does nothing to make me want to buy the PPV any more or any less.

Has any diva ever been inducted in the HOF? I wish there really was an actual HOF fans could visit. I read somewhere Shane was actually trying to organize this, but never heard more about it. IF such a place did actually exist, what would be the criteria for entrance? Who would decide? If the answer is "the fans" then it becomes a popularity contest and every wrestler would want to be a fan favorite.

One last rant. I've lost count of how many times HHH and Steph's kids have been mentioned, starting with Orton saying how she "popped out a few grand kids", then later HHH saying "Steph is the mother of my children". I know it's a personal plug and those kids are McMahons and odds are pretty high they will eventually turn up on WWE someday. But still, what do "the kids" have to do with anything wrestling related?? I dunno, just me but I think they should leave that one at home.

More Wrestlemania thoughts?

Sensational Sherri was inducted in 2006 and Mae Young last year. None of the modern divas have made it yet. I think there are definently some deserving women from the 90's who should be inducted, but you know how political this process is.

As for an actual HOF building, I was actually thinking about this one day. I think it would be cool and I'd hope that it would include great wrestlers from all over. It would be too biased if it were run by Vince. Where would they locate it though?

But Kozlov vs taker would had been huge. Kozlov has beaten taker and now is going to try and end the streak. They did similar stuff with Kali, they had him destroy taker yet taker ended up winning the eventual match months later

Now if Taker beats kozlov, it puts taker over on a final note ending the "streak"

If they have it to kozlov to break the streak, they then make kozlov even more unstoppable with his streak

But honestly, what happens to kozlov now, he cant work the mic and all he had was his "unstoppable" streak

which again, was ended by really 2 offensive moves by Michaels in 1 match

Is taker or shawn michaels going to retire at wrestlemania?

I heard from somewhere that Shawn Michaels wanted to retire after this wrestlemania. But I highly doubt either one will retire yet

As near as I can tell, you only missed one so far... The Fabulous Moolah was inducted in 2005 or 2004... None of the others so far... There are a few from the 90's I'd like to see, and a few more from the 80's.

I figure that Trish Stratus will be the first of the 'modern' divas to be inducted. We'll have to see if I'm right. 😀

:zombies:

When I heard the Honky Tonk Man was inducting Koko B. Ware, I thought, "may the gods save us all!"

I hope JR and the King call the HBK/'Taker match. It shouldn't be any other way.

I read that JBL vs. Mysterio for the IC Title has been added or is about to be added.

New match added: Carlito & Primo vs Miz & Morrison.

I hope they actually do something with that tag title unification they've been teasing on SmackDown for the last several weeks. So far the champs have retained in both cases. If they don't go forward with it, then this feud has been pretty much for nothing other than the finicky affections of the Bella Twins.

OK now, some thoughts on Money in the Bank? CM Punk, Kane, Mark Henry, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, Christian and Finlay is your lineup. Who wins and why, in your opinion? Personally I can see a scenario where any of these guys wins with the exception of friggin' Mark Henry. But that's just me.

They've had some good matches since their fued began. Title-unification is the way to go. Brand exclusivity isn't too important right now.

As for MITB, I'm not sure who'll win this year.

Kane, MH, and Finlay - no way.

CM Punk won last year so I think that squashes his chances.

Christian is just returning, he's on ECW, and Vince hates him.

I don't think Kofi will win because he's not at that championship level yet. Every MITB winner has successfully cashed in on their opportunity. If he were to win MITB and ultimately win a title, he'd be sent back to mid-card status eventually. I definently can see him winning MITB and being the first to unsuccessfully cash in.

MVP is a top candidate to win it this year. He's been expected to reach the World title picture for a few years now. He had that losing streak last year, but it seems as if he's back on track. He'd be my second choice to win.

Shelton Benjamin is my pick for MITB winner this year. They've allowed him to have a long US Title run and have given him a push for the past 9-or-so months. He's got the in-ring ability and still needs to develope on the mic, but I can see him having a run with a title on Smackdown similar to CM Punk's from last year.

And WWE has few good teams today.

It's pretty well established that Vince isn't big on tag team wrestling, which explains why he'll form one, then break it up shortly thereafter.

God, I miss the days of the Hart Foundation, Killer Bees, Demolition, Shiek and Volkoff, etc.

I hope JR and the King call the HBK/'Taker match. It shouldn't be any other way.

I agree on that one , they called all of there previous matches . As for the rest of the card , I just looked at it and to be honest it does not impress me one bit . The only match that will be good is HBK vs Taker

It's being reported that Howard Finkel will be the next HOF inductee. I hope he's the announcer at WM 25. It's the 25th Anniversary and it would only make sense. The best announcer of all-time.

I've heard Austin and Steamboat are both being inducted this year. Steamboat is one of the biggest legends in the industries history. Considering it is in Texas (I think?) wouldn't be better to let Austin go in this year and then give Ricky the spot light next year?

I'd bet that they don't see him as a headliner. Other than his match at WrestleMania III, he wasn't used to the best of his ability in the WWF. The only wrestlers who didn't make their career with the WWE has been Flair and Rhodes. I don't know of any remaining non-WWE wrestlers who haven't been inducted that can be a headliner in their eyes. Hopefully a Steamboat DVD is on the way.

Stone Cold Steve Austin
Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
Terry and Dory Funk
The Von Erichs
Koko B. Ware
"Cowboy" Bill Watts
Howard Finkel (To be announced)

Colons bros vs M & M will be a lumberjack match. I guess the WWE jobbers will be in.

I'm so glad they've decided to unify the tag belts. Since brand exclusivity means nothing and there are only a small handful of tag teams anymore, this makes a lot of sense.

Overall, it is shaping up to be a good card, I will be going to see it live, so I am amped up for sure

I read that Cena was "soundly boo'd" at the HOF ceremony. That's what I like to hear.
