WWE Chris Benoit Dead

Its a very sad day in all of wrestling. i have to admit i wasn't chris benoit's biggest fan, but no one could doubt his in ring skills and he improved so many lesser wrestlers just by being there. RIP Chris. you'll never be forgotten.

But this wasn't steroids. He went back to his family who were throwing up blood, and now they're all dead.

:sadcry:

Most of these wrestlers take steroids to keep up with the demands; those residuals last long after they retire from the ring. Many of them are dying way too soon. Until a full investigation is complete (and maybe even not then) will we truly know what happened.

I'm not a doctor or a medical professional, but it is a common link to wrestlers isn't it?

I wont reply to every indivudual comment cuz this issue is affecting me too greatly to want to reread and reply to all so i will jumble

No reason to even mention steroids since we now know it had nothing to do with it

Rumors are rampant from murder-suicide to benoit killing both to woman(his wife nancy) killing the son and benoit killing her in retaliation
Vince mcmahon showed he has a shred a human decency
Very quickly the lineage that is the hart foundation and all those who trained in stu harts dungeon are being taken from this earth, when the last ones are gone, truly an era of wrestling will die and never be found again

Rest in peace Chris, you will be missed

Steroids had nothing to do with a murder. His wife and son are also dead, and I'm pretty sure they didn't use steroids.

TMZ: Benoit Strangles Wife, Smothers Son, Hangs Self
06/26/2007 by Ryan Clark

TMZ has learned more about the deaths of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit, his wife and son -- and the information is extremely disturbing.

Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths.

One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday's WWE "Vengeance" Pay-Per-View program -- possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.

According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home.

When i first read about this i thought that it was just another faked death until i checked his profile on Wickipedia to make sure, that was when it all sank in... This is truly tragic, Chris being 40 with a wife and kid, and on the prime of his life suddenly ceases to be. Rest their souls.

Hmmm.... I've only two things to say:

First, I didn't read all the posts so far, but the whole steroids link just doesn't make any sense without a hell of a lot more supporting fact & info than "I heard they could make someone do something bad."

The other thing I'll add is that, if this was a murder-suicide, I'm hoping not to see a major outpouring of "support" for this guy as a wrestler. I mean, wrestling might be considered noble to some, but c'mon. If he murdered his wife and child, I hope people will reserve their kind words and honor for his victims and those that knew and loved them.

It WAS steroids, and I can't believe ANYONE is sympathetic to this piece of shit. He murdered his own family. I could care less that he ended his life... But DON'T take your family with you.

And he was a pretty boring fucking wrestler.

I see someone has no respect for people who actually have wrestling skills, you must be one of the modern wrestling marks who enjoys the "all talk, show and no wrestling" programming

You people need to get over thinking that every death after the McMahon "death" is a fake. It doesn't take too much to figure these things out.

Correct, also, one proof is they arent showing "graphic footage" of it and now wwe have removed nearly all info on benoit from their sites

I found out about this tragedy via this forum last night. But anybody's passing is bound not to seem real, at first. Chris Benoit was my favorite professional wrestler. For me, his matches were as exciting as professional wrestling could be. And his counters were so quick that it was often difficult to tell how he had done them.

I knew next to nothing about Chris Benoit on a personal level. If you listen to the video testimonials on the WWE site concerning him, you get an impression about the man that goes beyond his wrestling persona. As for what transpired in his home, I'll wait and reserve judgment until the local authorities complete their investigation. What more can one say. May he, his wife, and his child rest in peace.

Good friggin' grief!!!!

What the hell did the wife and kid get dragged into my accusation? I feel he killed them in a violent fit. I NEVER said anything aoout them being on steroids! I've heard of the youth athletes taking steroids, but 7 years old would be a new record! Did you read this before you hit the "submit message" button? He killed his wife and kid before he killed himself-when did I accuse the wife and kid? I'm going to dismiss your statement to knee-jerk ignorance! :disgust:

He was the one who killed his family then himself. Am I the only one who seems to know that prolonged steroid use (very prevalent in pro wrestling and other sports) will cause violent episodes? I know he's everyone's favorite wrestler and such, but explain to me how steroid use can be so easily dismissed. How many wrestlers have been dropping dead in their forties lately?

I remember when Lyle Alzedo died from liver cancer several years ago and not only did he admit to steroid use, he also said that others can die from the complications of it also.

Here are some examples of the review journal's long list of side effects of steroid use:

POST TRAUMATIC (after-shock) STRESS (anxiety, fear)
MOOD SWINGS (ranging from Euphoria to Suicidal thoughts)
STEROID PSYCHOSIS (including Hallucinations, Mania, Delusions)
DEPRESSION http://communitylink.reviewjournal....960304812692687&PG=01305001051018388563205082

Sorry folks, until an autopsy unequivocably disproves me, I feel my opinion has some validity. It's getting harder to ignore the elephant in the living room when it comes to pro wrestlers dying so young.

So since he used steroids for medical reasons, automatically he must have been a victim of roid rage? GMAFB

And as ive stated already, no wrestler has died from steroids, the most common link you can find is OD on prescription pain killers

Let's see what the autopsy says shall we???

You're mad because I'm taking the elephant out of the living room and putting it where it belongs. Your wrestling hero suffocated his son and killed his wife, then cowardly killing himself. Regardless if steroids were used or not, the man was mentally ill and took out his family and himself. Nothing changes that, does it?

I'm not much of a wrestling fan. I don't consider it a sport. To me it's entertainment. So yes, chraisma is more important to me. The bottom line, is that this man murdered his own family. He's a piece of shit, plain and simple.

Benoit was one of my all time favorites for his skills, but the Gremio is right. This is more important than wrestling skill.

The more and more I read about this story as it breaks...the more frightening, and hard to read and imagine it becomes. This guy just completely lost his mind...because from all accounts this was a decent if not good man...whether steroids caused him to snap or not...who knows...but he definitely lost his mind...cause I don't think this guy all along was planning on doing this...then again who knows. It's sad...but I'm more angry and disgusted then upset over his passing right now.

This is a different case. Earlier you said it had to do with steroid use, but you thought it was health reasons. Wrestlers have died from steroid use after using it for an extended period of time, this is nothing new. I was saying that if he died from steroid-related health issues then that didn't explain how his wife and son were dead. He reportedly did this over a three day period, so I don't know if this had anything to do with roid rage. Benoit wasn't my favorite wrestler and I'm not defending him, it's just that people always want to say steroids whenever there's something that happens with a wrestler.

Well you know what? Yes what happened is horrific but its not gonna stop me from watching my tapes\clips of his matches. He was arguably the most talented wrestler in the country and possibly north america. That can never be taken away from him

When thinking about moral condemnation for Benoit, think about the circumstances. The behavior he exhibited was not rational, not even sane. I don't know what drove Benoit over the edge, but the man who strangled his wife, smothered his son, and hanged himself was not the same man we've seen. He was broken, somehow/somewhere.

I can't find any anger for Benoit. Just pity for everyone involved.

My cousin and I met Chris Benoit in an autograph signing area before a house event in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. He was a class act all the way. He shook our hands and signed our merchandise.

RIP Daniel, Nancy and Chris.
