This issue is the start of a very special story arc in the Yelena series. It's the culmination of a lot of really neat plot points all coming together in beautifully erotic convergence. First, we have Yelena. She's a centuries old witch with a tickle fetish that always ends up on the giving end of the feather. Second, we pair up Yelena with her wonderful lover Gretchen, and the two form a very loving union. Third, Yelena is accosted by The Ruthless during a play session, and makes a deal with The Ruthless in order to secure her own future with Gretchen. The Ruthless knows how special Yelena is, and wants to play with her, in only the way The Ruthless can. So Yelena submits, knowing it is for the best.

So this issue has a very nice, erotic scene between three powerfully motivated characters and is just bursting with hotness. It is also the first comic in which we've featured full frontal female nudity. So there's that. While it's not something we're going to feature all the time, the mileau certainly called for it. Long time fans of the series are really going to like this issue.

So she starts by calling her goddess. Stacia responds that she is off-duty and this night is all about pleasure. So let the pleasure begin 🙂

The art for the next Yelena looks pretty darn dazzling! I particularly like the way in which the colorist has changed the hue of the exterior/and interior line work (as opposed to always leaving the lines black). It's a technique that I think can add a lot of professionalism to a piece, and is also very challenging to do well.

Quite a nice eye on the colorist style. Our audition process is fairly grueling: we interviewed, recruited, reviewed, tested over 100 artists for various pencil, ink, colorist, and lettering positions among our books during the latter half of 2012. It was a recruiting drive that left Jon and I thoroughly exhausted as you can imagine. With that many folks, you definitely need a strong point of view and style accompanying your initial presentations. Rennie's style caught our eye for the very reason you describe. It's a bold statement to recolor the inks, but her choice paid off. It really is a beautiful style she brings to Arturo's work and we're very pleased to have her on board.

I can not wait to gather some money so i can catch up with this series. Added a scene of desperation to this? Hell yes. I love how you just continue to deliver. Agencies universe is very enjoyable since it is from all sorts of different perspectives. Yelena's is very...loveable.

Fantasy-fulfillment is, of course, one of the driving forces behind human activity. We work, we play, we love, all with an eye toward achieving our dreams, big or small. In this issue of Yelena, we get to see our favorite witch get to live out a very old fantasy of her own. In the process, many of us also get to see some of our own little fantasies played out on the page, and in jaw-dropping detail! The art here is incredible, from the lines, to the inks, to the colors. Yelena, Gretchen, and of course Stacia have never looked better, or sexier!

As long-time readers know, much of this series is less about tickling as torture, and much more about intimacy and sex. This issue is no exception. If you enjoy this sort of thing, this issue really is a dream come true.

Thank you, my friend. I am really glad you enjoyed this issue. The crossover is a long time in the making, and we will do more of that as these storylines evolve, develop, and intertwine. And speaking of intertwining storylines, The Cyriaan Chronicles #9 is going to kick off an amazing story arc written by Jon. I will go into that more in that comic's thread, but you will see familiar faces from our universe making their way into an unlikely fantasy, swords & sorcery setting. Quite fun.

We are working quite hard on getting The Ruthless #8 production ready. I hope we make the deadline we set out for ourselves...! The Ruthless #8's production values are just off the chart so I want to make sure everything looks great for you guys.

Yelena has proven to be the most challenging of all our comic lines to write, to be frank. Not because of the content, but because of the corner I painted myself in. I initially wanted this notion of a centuries old witch in constant escape mode as the witch hunters were in constant pursuit. But I also wanted a legitimate love story as the central theme. So I wonder how I was going to bounce back and forth from erotic/hot to torturous and still have the narrative make any sense at all.

Since that conundrum, I've since had an epiphany and it will play itself out in the storyline. So long story short, the Yelena will start to veer towards the loving/erotic theme and away from the tickle torture aspect. It will still feature tickle torture, but it will have more consensual/loving situations than our other fare.
