Knox - In my eyes The Godfather Part 3 was ruined by poor casting.
I thought the story was interesting especially the fact that it involved the Catholic Church one of the largest and richest institutions/businesses in the world.
But because Francis Ford Coppola insisted on having his daughter in a fairly visible role the movie was ruined for me. Every time she was on screen she pulled my focus away from the movie.
The fact that it ended with Michael Coreleone totally alone and soulless was powerful. As powerful as it was at the end of 1 & 2.

Godfather 3 was absolute crap. Sophia is a fine director~but sucks as an actress!

I've seen it countless numbers of times since 1972, and will no doubt see it countless times more. I like GF1 a lot better than GF2, although the second one I appreciate a lot more than I did when it came out. The third one I only saw once, with one of my best friends. I hated Godfather III so much, I refuse to ever see it again. The first one, though, is my favorite. It was also one of my favorite novels. Mario Puzo had a great gift, and it's one that I've tried to emulate at times. [/B][/QUOTE]
