...OK so this is a pretty morbid thread but me and a few friends were talking the other day whilst inhebriated and came up with what music we would have played as people are entering and leaving.

The best I managed to come up with was:

(presuming I get my wish to be cremated)

In: A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free)
Out: South of Heaven or Another One Bites the Dust

This is not a piss-take, I do actually want this at my funeral, and when I do happen to go I want people to be happy at my passing...hence the choice of song going out!

Any suggestions from anyone else?

Don't want any formal service when my time comes, but if i did i think Freebird by Lynard Skynard would be one choice.

MM yes. I've pondered this, morbid fuck that I am.

I wish to be cremated and have my ashes dumped in the Chesapeake while "Tin Cup Chalice" by Jimmy Buffet is playing. Then, break open the keg and mix up the margaritas.

Hmm yep, morbid topic but these sort of topics do get touched on when sozzled :upsidedow

I dunno what I'd have but I think I would like it to be a jovial affair as I'm normally a daft bird and people would associate me as that...I'd have to think on it more 🙂

"I Did It My Way"- Frank Sinatra

"In My Life"- The Beatles

"Highway To Hell"- AC/DC

"Always Look On The Bright Side of Life"- Eric Idle/Monty Python

And on my gravestone- "Wish You Were Here"

I don't know all the music I would use for my funeral. but I do know one of the songs id use. (As the exit song)

Its from the movie Cooley High.

It's so hard to say Goodbye to Yesterday: by Boyz II Men

Here are the Lyrics
IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY

How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad.

I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I don't know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through.

If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

'See You On The Other Side' - Ozzy Osbourne.

'Ashes to Ashes' - Damage Plan w/Jerry Cantrell

'Here Today, Gone Tomorrow' - Sven Gali

Then again, the Funeral March by Chopin would work too.....and I am to be cremated. placed in a glass skull.

Ven, i would show up to your funeral just for the tunes, then. That is one of my very favoritest songs.

As for me, i've often thought about what mean last prank i could play on those that love and adore me. If i were to say die tomorrow, i would most definantly rick roll my funeral. I would have strobe lights flashing, "Never Gonna Give You Up" would be playing and i would have an actress pop out of the coffin and start dancing. Followed by a performance of "Thriller" that involved a few of my closest friends and the actress acted like a zombie and tried to eat people's brains.... awesome.

Let It Be by the beatles. or learning to fly by tom petty and the heartbreakers.

'At My Funeral'
by Crash Test Dummies.

Here are the lyrics so you can sing along.

I'm still young, but I know my days are numbered
1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and so on
But a time will come when these numbers have all ended
And all I've ever seen will be forgotten

Won't you come
To my funeral when my days are done?
Life's not long
And so I hope when I am finally dead and gone
That you'll gather 'round when I am
lowered into the ground

When my coffin is sealed and I'm safely 6 feet under
Perhaps my friends will see fit then to judge me
Oh when they pause to consider all my blunders
I hope they won't be too quick to begrudge me

Won't you come
To my funeral when my days are done?
Life's not long
And so I hope when I am finally dead and gone
That you'll gather 'round when I am
lowered into the ground

If I should die before I wake up
I pray that the Lord my soul will take
But my body, my body - that's your job

Well, I can't be sure where I'm headed after death
To Heaven, Hell, or beyond to that Great Vast
But if I can I would like to meet my Maker
There's one or two things I'd sure like to ask

Won't you come
To my funeral when my days are done?
Life's not long
And so I hope when I am finally dead and gone
That you'll gather 'round when I am
lowered into the ground

Going in: Dead - They Might Be Giants

The Inmates version of "Dirty Water or anything from Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs.

Anything that rocks, don't want no one cryin' at my funeral.

These:
- Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive
- Motörhead - Killed By Death
- Johnny Cash - Oh Bury Me Not

I've thought about this funeral thing for the longest time now. Last year I lost my dad as well as a few friends and acquaintances so I've begun thinking seriously about my own funeral. As for funeral music, I've thought of many songs but this one seems to be fit the occasion best. Mix my ashes with some pot and have a toke on me... or of me:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nvwrSdMY7dQ&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nvwrSdMY7dQ&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
The Alan Parsons Project - "Time"

This one would do nicely, too:

George Harrison - "All Things Must Pass"

And of course, if I want all of the funeral guests to sob their eyes out, I'd see to it that a nice version of this song would be performed:
