About four years ago my mother hurt her back and when she had surgery to fix it, the surgeon accidentally nicked a nerve. Her pain has been getting progressively worse, to the point where a 24-hour morphine patch won't even touch it and all she can do is lie there whimpering, moaning and crying.
Next wednesday they're going to try to implant an electronic device in her spine to interrupt the pain signals. She's not a good candidate for it, but they feel like there's nothing left to lose.
Her name is Marie and if those of you who are on speaking terms with God could include her in your prayers, I would really appreciate it.
