3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?
Home is where I can relax and be myself, without pretense, without judgement, without scrutiny. I think home is where you can be comfortable in your own skin - and it doesn't need an address.
10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?
I really do have a hard time discarding things. I won't say I'm a full hoarder, but partial for sure. Some of us prefer the term "collectors" - like I collect elephants (more than 800). Some would say I collect cats (5)... lol.

My second family at the dragstrip.
10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?
I tend to keep alot of unimportant things.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?
Without getting specific, bad shit happened in my late teens, and I basically lost my motivation for... well... anything and everything in life. I still struggle to find motivation in certain aspects of life, but hey, who doesn't? I'd say I've gotten through the worst of it.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?
Pour something cold in a glass, then go out in the garden and read.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?
I'm largely self-learned. I'm sure I've received plenty of advice, but none of it has really stuck with me. I guess I'm just that special kind of thick-headed where I have to make mistakes for myself before I learn from them.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?
No, but I still prefer smaller groups/parties.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?
Do actual people count? If not, then a starter pistol.

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?
Lack of an open mind. A bit of a cliché answer I guess, but it is seriously off-putting.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?
Well... I challenge myself to new things all the time, but I guess I've never thought of myself as very artistic, so as far as something I "never thought I'd be able to do" I might challenge myself to become skilled at drawing/painting, or some such thing.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?
Well, err, the only TV-shows from this year that I would vaguely recommend would be "Vikings" and "Da Vinci's Demons," both are okay but not great. I tried getting into a couple of other ones, like Defiance, but... it was mostly rubbish.
As for shows in general, that are still ongoing and that I would be more happy to recommend: Wilfred (US version), Sherlock, Grimm, Psych. I won't bother mentioning more popular shows, that I'm sure everyone has already heard about.

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?
Fuck that quote. Home is in my house, and nowhere else! My apartment is awesome, and there is nowhere else I would rather live.

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?
Trinkets and items I might have a hard time throwing away, but I'm not the type that hoards newspapers, soda cans or dust bunnies...

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through? When it's over, I always expect the worst is yet to come.
2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days? Family gimmicks/affairs.

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them? If he/she kills me.
7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be? Do the N. Wallenda thing.
8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly? My opinion on this would suck.
9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home? One and Two.
10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither? My home companions can properly judge me.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?

Living with my brother for three years while he fought the brain tumor that took his life.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?

Visiting a park or historic site, driving around the Hill Country, or fishing.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

Don't sweat the small stuff, life is too short.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?

Yes.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?

If cash counts, I found $150 once.

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?

Dishonesty.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?

My heart and home are in Texas. I have no desire to live anywhere else.

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?

I hold onto magazines and clothes longer than I should.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?

Moving up here to Michigan. Where I was unwelcome by my son's dad's family, and knew not a single person. I've been here 3 years. I've made some awesome friends up here.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?

Going to the park with my son, reading or playing my melodica under the shade of a tree, going for a walk.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

"Don't complain about things that you perceive to be wrong. Fight to change them, or support someone who can." I live by these words in all aspects of my life. Work, home, and otherwise.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?

Not at all. I generally know at least one other person, and branch out from there.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?

$20

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?

Hypocrisy, pretentiousness, flakey people, that's all that comes to mind though I'm sure there are others. I'm pretty particular lately about who I call "friend". There's a lot of childish and two-faced people I have met recently. I guess those two traits as well I don't like either.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?

Get a tattoo, hold a tarantula, or sit outside during a thunderstorm. My three biggest fears are needles, spiders, and thunder. It would be great to be able to get over at least one of those fears.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?

NBC's Chicago Fire :redheart:;
TNT's Falling Skies and Franklin & Bash
USA's Suits :redheart:
MTV's Teen Wolf

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?

Home is North Carolina. Most importantly Carteret County. I miss Atlantic Beach and Morehead City terribly and being so close to the ocean. And the smell of the salt air. And how friendly people are compared to up here in the north. That will always be "home"

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?

No. I like to keep things pretty decently clutter-free. I'd say I'm a partial hoarder though. When it comes to things like movies and book, I go nuts. I probably have several copies of many different things. But those are the only things I hoard.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?
I'm not sure I have a definitive answer for this. I'm sure I've been through plenty of difficult obstacles, and have probably overreacted to many of them, as IF they were the most difficult thing I've ever had to do, but I can't think of anything concrete.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?
come-outside-chris.gif
I love that this even says "Chris." Seriously, my job involves physical labor, which isn't fun in summer heat--nothing but dehydration, swamp ass, and chafing. I've grown to love torrential downpours, thunderstorms, and snow.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?
In my ongoing quest for financial freedom, I think of something Mark Cuban said on an episode of Shark Tank. He was describing how many investors get caught up in an ROI (return on investment), but he likes to have a good ROT (return on time). You can always find ways to make more money, but you can't get your time back. I've been doing what I can to focus on maximizing my time.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?
Yes. I like to stick to small groups of 2-6. All the noise just turns to buzzing.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?
Years ago, I probably would have had an answer for this, but the modern germaphobe in me just thinks, "...Ew. I don't know where that's been. Don't touch." :idontwann

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?
Oh, gosh... this could take a while.
-Laziness
-Negativity
-Tendency towards being inconsiderate
-Thoughtlessness
-Ignorance
-Selfishness
-Misguided passion--crusading for the wrong things, or not knowing why
-Giving zero fucks entirely too often (Sometimes, you just have to give a fuck.)
-Reckless, aggressive driving habits
-The type to throw gasoline on a fire--figuratively, of course.
I'm sure there's more, but my brain's not working, right now.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?
Either the sling shot, bungee jumping, or skydiving.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?
Avoiding the obvious Game of Thrones, True Blood, and the Walking Dead, I'll add Shipping Wars, Storage Wars, Barter Kings, and Brain Games.

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?
9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?
Home is where I can relax and be myself, without pretense, without judgement, without scrutiny. I think home is where you can be comfortable in your own skin - and it doesn't need an address.--Desdemona
Couldn't have said it better!

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?
Sometimes, I'm a semi-hoarder. Mail and receipts tend to stack up, because I'm paranoid about identity theft, and my shredder sucks.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?

Grade 4, first heartbreak. When you have no frame of reference in how to handle difficult social situations, it kinda sucks. Having persevered and gone through several good and bad relationships, I've learned to accept the fact that not all women find me awesome, but the ones who do should be treated like a queen...just not in a clingy, needy way.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?

Usually, it's going out to the mountains. But this year, it's volunteering to help complete strangers get back into their flood ravaged homes in High River.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

Reinforce success, don't focus on failure. This was my interpretation on how to apply reinforcements from my military days during strategy and tactics lectures. I've just re-worded it to form my own take on "think positive".

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?

If it's a group of strangers, then yes.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?

My dog. He was just a puppy with no tags and no one looking for him in a small town called Bassano

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?

Whining about insignificant things. If it's a "First World Problem", then it's not really a problem.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?

I always face my challenges...even doubly so with my fears.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?

Hannibal, it's a great take on an established set of characters.

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?

Home is where me and my dog are. However, right now we do have a house.

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?

Possessions are replaceable.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?
Childhood; I was a poster child as a victim of bullying. It was frustrating and anytime I'd fight back or assert myself, I got suspended and it would get worse.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?
Sitting outside on the deck, with or without a beer, and taking in the nice day.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?
Check yourself, before you wreck yourself. I've used that several times when I've encountered situations where tact, humility and respect were needed and I give my friends the exact same advice.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?
It depends on how I'm feeling at a particular time. I generally don't have trouble interacting initially but as I get tired, if there aren't many people I know or if there is no one to interact with then I "retreat into my shell" and I become a listener as opposed to a talker.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?
I've got nothing; it's only been the last 3 out of 5 years that I've lived at a house with a sidewalk.

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?
If encountering a person for the first time, perceived (or real) arrogance is an automatic deal breaker for me. It's okay to be confident but to me there is a fine line before confidence becomes arrogance and the former breeds the latter. There are very few arrogant people I've encountered that weren't self-centered in entirety. If it is someone I know, or a friend, breaking a promise for no good reason, lying to me for their own gain and treating me like garbage or with disrespect are also deal breakers.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?
Get into a fight/become aggressive - I'm as passive and gentle a giant as they come and I don't enjoy confrontation.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?
Spartacus series, (Blood and Sand, Gods of the Arena, Vengeance) Game of Thrones

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?
Home is being around the people I care for and that truly care for me. Wherever those people are is home.

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?
If I'm unsure about an item's usefulness then it can be difficult but otherwise I just have to kick myself in the ass and go for it. Stuff piles up but I have no qualms about tossing it out; not a hoarder by any means.

Good to have TMI back for whatever period it's around. 🙂

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?
A divorce, a tumultuous relationship and a subsequent breakup.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?
Reading on the beach, swimming, and running with my dog.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?
From my mother, in reference to all people: "We all do what we really wanna do."
It's the most true thing I know about anyone.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?
Yes, it's difficult. I can do it, though.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?
Thirty packets of ketchup.

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?
Anti-semitism and narcissism.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?
Finishing my degree and studying Arabic in Israel - but I'm already doing that.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?
NCIS is my all-time favorite, and I'm currently devastated over Cote de Pablo leaving.
She's my hero. Other things I'm watching are Rizzoli & Isles, Big Bang Theory, Motive,
and Twisted.

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?
Home is where my mom is.

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?
No, I attempt to be a semi-minimalist. I don't like to throw things away, though. I am
more likely to recycle or donate things I don't need anymore.

Good job, bebe. I'm glad you posted this. <33

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?

A marriage that was detrimental physically and emotionally.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?

Same thing I like to do on rainy days...listen to music, write, go for a walk, do nothing.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

It's not so much advice I have received as examples of how to live. I've watched people in my life pick up the pieces after having something devastating happen, and move through life with dignity, compassion and grace. I apply that to my life everyday. No matter what f*cked up stuff happens, I do my best to handle it with dignity, and I try remain compassionate.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?

Yes. I am introverted. I find I have to excuse myself for a moment to be alone outside, preferably with headphones on, so I can shut everything out for a time, and then I can go back and be around everyone.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?

Money? I tend not to pick things up off the ground, I usually think someone is going to come back for it.

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?

Hypocrisy. Also people who want things that they are unwilling to give to others...time, money, affection, etc. People who want to do things they don't want anyone else doing to them...being selfish, being inconsiderate, being mean.

Insincerity. People who will tell you anything to get what they want from you.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?

Speaking in public.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?

I don't really watch tv unless I'm with someone else who is watching tv, so I don't know. I am curious about watching Game of Thrones, mostly because of the epic episode everyone got so crazy about 😀.

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?

Home is where my daughters are. Home is wherever we are when we are together. Home is also in the arms of someone who cares for me or loves me. (I do wish 'home' were a big ass house in Hawaii though 🙂 )

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?

Yes, sort of. I wouldn't call myself a hoarder, because as much as I can keep stuff, I have very little compunction about throwing things away. It's sort cyclical, where I will hold onto things for awhile, and then one day, I will decide I don't need the clutter physically or mentally, and I will throw away nearly everything.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?

College

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?

Go Fishing

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

If you plan on hating...don't hate the color of skin, or outward appearance...hate the asshole inside. Yes I apply it

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?

Very much so...I have a bad social anxiety problem

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?

$100 Dollar bill

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?

Narcissism

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?

Be able to walk into a crowd and not have a panic attack

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?

Dexter and Ray Donovan on Shotime...Sundays

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?

Home is comfort...and yes I have more than one place I consider home.

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?

Not at all...sometimes I accidentally throw things I need later without thinking.

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?

Depression. Took far too long for me to get my head right and cost me the one person that I truly loved. 9 months later and I'm still "dead" to her it seems. But I try to soldier on, I try to get better each day and I allow hope and positive thinking to be my guide.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?

Fish, take walks to enjoy nature and let my mind relax or work things out, and anything other the hide from life

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

Rome wasn't built in a day but it was destroyed in one. That phrase alone has guided me through dark times.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?

Surprisingly after my ex left me now I do. Never was a problem for me and yet when she left it seems as though she took my self worth as well. Its something that I'm working on each day to rebuild and grow. I can beat this challenge as well.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?

Nothing is popping in my head so I'm thinking that it hasn't happened yet!

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?

I try to be accepting of all people but racism/sexism would definitely be the straw that broke the camel's back

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?

Move out of Maryland and start fresh. May happen

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?

Final Season of Burn Notice and the new series Graceland. Both are fantastic

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?

Home is my family. They have had my back no matter what.

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?

I do if the things have meaning. And after a 3 year relationship fell apart it seems that everything has meaning. Just another obstacle to over come

1.) What has been one of the hardest obstacles in your life that you managed to get through?

I've allowed myself to become morbidly obese on two separate occasions, and had to lose upwards of a hundred pounds each time to get back to my normal self. That was a bitch.

2.) What are some things you enjoy doing during nice, sunny days?

9 times out of 10, I'll be at work until past sundown. People think I'm a workaholic, but I'm actually an exempt (hourly) employee with a strong love of dollars.

3.) What has been some of the best advice you have ever received? – Do you apply it to your daily life?

"Don't shit where you eat." It's served me well my entire adult life.

4.) Do you have a hard time interacting in large groups/parties?

If I know a lot of people there? No. If I have to get up and speak in front of a bunch of people? Doesn't bother me. If I have to hang out with a bunch of people I don't know? Ugh. I'm not shy, but I don't generally like strangers.

5.) What has been the most interesting thing you either found or picked up off the sidewalk?

Somewhere in the house here is a penny with a perfect cross-shape cut into the middle of it. Kinda cool.

6.) What flaws in other people make it difficult for you to become/remain friendly with them?

I find arrogant people distasteful, particularly when their arrogance is unwarranted.

7.) If you had to challenge yourself to do one thing you never thought you’d be able to do; what would that be?

Write a novel.

8.) This year has greeted us with a slew of great movies and TV shows; what are you currently watching or have seen already and would recommend strongly?

AnnieHall introduced me to Breaking Bad, and I got her hooked on Game of Thrones. I'd recommend both.

9.) There’s a popular quote, “Home is where the heart is”. What is “Home” to you? Do you have more than one place you consider Home?

There's a huge house on a small, private lake somewhere out in the woods of Northern Minnesota. My mom designed it, and I grew up in it. Someday when I'm rich, I'm going to go back and buy it. That's the place I always think of when I think of "home."

10.) Do you have a difficult time throwing things away? – Would you class yourself as a semi-hoarder? Full? Partial? Neither?

I'm strangely sentimental about certain stuff... I guess you could say that I have some slight hoarder tendencies. 🙂
