Hey. As you know Rook's Media is down, but he had the most amazing videos there is, so it there any possible way to get a hand on his lovely videos? I'd do anything! And now we're talking about EVERY video that he had on his site, since alot of Lolo is already on the internet, but I wanna get more videos!

I want to say that dead stores = ok to share, but I'm not entirely sure what the appropriate method of passing along stuff is. I'll see what I can do.

Wasn't Rook's site a commercial one, like a store on Clips4Sale.com? Because if he did sell his clips, as opposed to sharing them for free, I don't think it's right to trade them. It doesn't matter if he's not in business anymore. If he didn't make it clear that he was ok with people distributing his work after he closed shop, it's still not right (and potentially illegal since it's copyrighted material). It still belongs to him. I realize it's frustrating not to be able to get one's hands on interesting clips because a vendor has stopped selling them, but that's just the way it is. Or at least that's my opinion.

I'm really not sure about that. I wouldn't be very happy about people sharing my clips after I close down The Last Laugh. Not that I don't expect people to do it anyway, mind you.

(i'm not to this site, so I dont know how to attach like you, so im just going to write here)

Yea well, you're kinda right Last Laugh. But if he has nothing against it, there would be no problem? And if someone do have those clips, and is willing to either trade clips (Cause I'd guess thats totaly illegal to SELL someones other clips?) And if theres no way to get the clips without Ryan (Rook), I'd guess I have to contact him in any way there is possible, but I dont think it is since he stopped making videos 2 years ago.

So Comfort Eagle, see what you can do, thank you 🙂.

EDIT; (i'm NEW to this site, so I dont know how to attach like you, so im just going to write here)

It should be NEW in the second word. I was thinking of something else.

But if he has nothing against it, there would be no problem?

If he allows it I don't see any problem. But you'd have to ask him.

Cause I'd guess thats totaly illegal to SELL someones other clips?

Definitely. But even sharing them for free is illegal if they're copyrighted and the producer hasn't given his permission to do so.

"If he allows it I don't see any problem. But you'd have to ask him. " Yes thats true, but IF I did get incontact with him he'd probably sell them to me instead of saying that its okay to just share them on the internet. But what if theres no way to get in contact with him? Since he stopped posting 2 years ago, and he haven't answered me, hows the deal then?

Well, yes, if we can sell them to you then it's fine (although it might be tricky without a store). Obviously that's more interesting for him than letting people share his work for free. But if you can't contact him?... I don't know. I know people tend to feel that it's ok to share someone's work for free if it's not sold anymore, but I don't think it's quite right. I'm not even sure it's legal. The material still belongs to the person who created it. He's under no obligation to sell it anymore if he doesn't want to, and I feel people aren't entitled to his work just because he's not in business anymore. Still, I'm not familiar with the legal technicalities of this sort of situation, so I really don't know.

All I know is that when I stop selling my own clips I won't be particularly happy when people decide that it makes it ok to share the clips I've worked so hard to produce. It actually makes me wonder if it might not be better for me to simply keep my store open even after I decide not to update it anymore. That way people won't be able to claim that they can pirate my clips just because I'm not in business anymore.

Yea I guess you're right. But as you said aswell, now when hes not selling anymore, he might not mind people sharing them (Believe it or not people do share clips anyway, everywhere, at any time) but yea, still. We'll I really dont know what to do.

That is what I mean, even tho someone's stop selling clips, they should still have the site open for business, would've work out way better.

Yea, that really gotta set down your money income :/. Just out of curiosity, approximately how much do a model get paid for lets say, a 10 minute video? I know it shifts from time to time, but approximately?

I don't understand how this is relevant.

I was just curious since we were talking about video piracy, which includes money, and you do pay the models. But you dont need to tell me, I was just curious.

That's not the point. I just don't see what the salary one pays his models has to do with the piracy issue. Are you suggesting that if a producer pays his models less than another producer it makes it more acceptable to share his clips for free? No matter what a producer pays his models, he still owns the footage, and people shouldn't share his material without his permission. That's all there is to it.

In any case, I've already given a general figure for the salaries I pay the models in a different thread, the big one about piracy. You can check it out if you want.

My question about the models payment had nothing to do about the piracy talk, as I said, it was just out of curiosity 🙂.

Respect the man's product. He might have closed his site, but might be opening a new one. The right thing to do is contact the producer directly.

Yes you're right. And that is what im going to do, I just hope hes going to respond.

Oh, ok. I just thought it was a rather abrupt change of topic.

Depending on the circumstances each model might get from $120 to $200, with a few rare exceptions outside of that. I don't pay by the hour or by footage duration. Rather, I pay a fixed amount for a shoot, each shoot corresponding to a clip series. I've no idea if this is considered a fair deal or if I'm actually really cheap, as I'm not particularly aware of what other producers pay their models. All I know is that my last several series have barely covered their production costs (and some have lost money), so it's really hard for me to pay the models more than that.

Viper's store was very much the same way. Would buy Rook's stuff too, especially if it involves Raven (do think that was her name).

The direct approach is to contact directly. Maybe increased interest shows a producer that their stuff is stuff people want to pay for.

Okey TheLastLaugh, that was everything I wanted to know, and again, just out of curiosity 🙂.

Yea Meangry, I do agree with that! I dont know why Ryan closed his site, cause it really was great, oh well, it's his choice!

"Viper's store was very much the same way." ; Who is this "Viper" that you're talking about?

By the way, how do I like attach the sentence or the entire message, like you guys do? It seems a bit easier than just copying the entire message the way iam doing. Anyone?

I'd say check dailymotion, they have a large library of tickling clips and more than likely would have some from Rooks. I unfortunately didn't grab any of his while he was active, otherwise I'd trade with you.

Yes you're right, but big sharing sites like dailymotion and youtube isnt really those sites that will remove the content even though it is copyrighted material. You cant expect people to NOT watch videos when they are just floating around a webpage away, but when people download the new and latest videos from a site, that's just wrong in my opinion. But oh well, theres nothing anyone can do about it.

Oh look this is degenerating into another PIRACY IS EVIL thread, which there aren't enough of these days. Some of the formative images many of us found within this fetish are a result of piracy of some form or another. Maybe it was a BAC picture that was circulated over the net. Maybe it was a video from 1995 from a company that sold their stuff view floppy disk. Maybe it was scans from a magazine that you didn't buy. Who the hell knows.

But one only needs look at the video section, or the side bar of this site, and see that that's a lot of advertising, and that the sheer plethora of "MOST TICKLISH GIRL EVER" posts number in the thousands. The person should go through the proper channels, be willing to pay for it. If the producer closed their store and basically says "thanks but no thanks", it's obvious that they don't exactly care about their own material enough to make a profit off of it.

I get the producer side of it, but if it's a closed store and the producer doesn't want to sell, sanctimony doesn't really have a place.
