Thanks to all who posted. The move went quite smoothly. (I will be happy to recommend a moving company to anybody moving from central New Jersey.)

Give her medical ailments, my mother will be much better off in the 3-step facility in Baltimore near where my brother lives. (Unlike me, he is a physician.)

For those of you who don't know what a 3-step facility is, I didn't either until about a year ago when we started looking for someplace for my mother. It is a place for seniors that has 1) independent living, 2) assisted living (also know as residential care), and 3) a nursing home, all under one roof. Once you move in you can be transfered to the appropriate level of care that you need.
