Big scare recently

I had offered to feed my niece, to give my sister and brother-in-law a break. I know it's weird to be all excited to do something so mundane.....but it's my niece, you know?

Anyway, my sister hands me the bottle, and as she puts it in my hand, the top comes off and it spilled all over me! MY SISTERS BREAST MILK WAS ALL OVER ME!! It was like the scene from the movie "Carrie". I was all ready to puke, but I couldn't because I was holding my niece. My sister acts like it's no big deal, and I'm like, THIS IS A BIG FRIGGIN' DEAL!

gross.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I mean, I was just trying to be helpful and then end up covered in my sisters bodily fluids. Gross.

Good question. No, I would not have freaked out if it were the pasturized and processed milk from a store that were spilled on me. Because it came out of my sister, it was a little much for me to handle. Think of it this way, if I were carrying around a bottle of my own semen (Haven't we all done that?) and I spilled it on her, she probably would have freaked out a bit too. Yuck!

LOL Awww, don't worry. We're just having a little fun with you. I guess my health care background makes it a bit more difficult to gross me out. I've dealt with truly gross stuff over the years. As for you carrying your sperm around...you'd do better to donate it and make a few bucks!

In what I've seen with my family, usually if the woman opts for breast milk, she just does things the old fashioned way. If she opts for the bottle, she uses formula.

I didn't realize some women go for feeding babies via breast milk in the bottle.

If you don't want to give your baby formula but still want others to give a feeding while you go to work/shower/see a movie/take a much needed mommy-nap, you use a breast pump and make bottles 🙂

I'm going to assume comparing mother's milk to sperm was for the sake of humor and not a sign of the OP's intelligence. Or lack thereof 😉

Wow, this thread got a little more serious at times than I had anticipated.

It reminds me of the scene in Look Who's Talking when John Travolta pours milk out of the bottle into his coffee, drinks it, and then is told it's breast milk and spits it out....all over the baby in case nobody else noticed LOL
