Should cyber occur in the main chatroom?

This debate has come up multiple times in multiples places, I've found, so I decided to post a poll to figure out who preferred what. Should cyber-play be allowed in the main chatroom? Or should the cyber folks remain in private chat for one-on-one or in a separate room specifically for those wishing to cyber or RP? Explaining why you chose an answer would also be appreciated.
 
I'm just going to start by saying I picked the wrong option lol

I was suppose to say "I dont care" instead of no..

But ok. I really don't mind if there is or not, in fact I think it would liven up the room sometimes. But of course, others might want to just talk about their day or something. Also cybering in public could make others think they are invited to join in. I'm sure we could sort something out to please everyone though.

If someone I knew started or asked me to cyber in the main chat, I would think of it as harmless fun and maybe try it, but I would be also thinking of others, like do they really want to see or read this? Ect ect

I would also be very nervous and embarrassed to cyber in public with strangers and maybe some creepers around lol 😛

So.. I still don't know, I might try it a few times with people I know.. After all, it could help the main chat not be so quiet some nights lol
 
I said I don't care (although I also leaned towards Yes). I have experienced 2 public/main chat room tickle chats. But I prefer private chats. But this is also a Chat room meant to cater to a tickling website. I am like many and prefer my private chats but have talked to some who do NOT like private chats but prefer public chats. And considering that this is a tickling chat room (or at least a chat room on a tickling site), I think that people SHOULD be able to have public tickling chats. To be honest they are more fun than a lot of the chats I walk into (movies, games, even guns, boring stuff). If the people want to talk about stuff other than tickling, let them form their own room, no reason why those who are into tickling (on a tickling site) should have to form/create a new room.

But either way I'd be fine as I Private Chat anyway. But as I said, let the majority have its way (if the majority doesn't want tickling convos/rp's in the main chat, then we shouldn't have them). But if this sentiment is only with the minority, then let the rp'ers do what they want and form another room.

Yuna: good, valid points. No one is saying that people HAVE TO do public role plays. But there are those that like them. I know many who would prefer them over the boring conversations that usually occur. I know when I first came on here and got in the chatroom and tried to talk about tickling and I almost had my head taken off. Definitely not fun and very intimidating. And there may be some who are casual about tickling. But I think if people want public tickling role plays they should be allowed to do them on a tickling website chat. 😉

I said no for a couple / few reasons. Like Dan i've been in the room and had a tickle "attack" start and I felt a little awkward mainly due to the questions "Can I join in? / Do I want to?" / What, if any, are the rules?" that kind of thing. I noticed during this that several people came in and left straight away while others stayed and "watched". The difficulty about having a public r/p is that if you don't want to participate it's nearly impossible to carry on a convo of any type.I realize that having the participants "take it" to another room might put a damper on the fun but for a newbie to "walk in" might be very intimidating especially if they are just coming out so to speak. Perhaps the answer would be to set up two chat rooms, one for the general discussions we all enjoy and one dedicated to public fun? Boys will be boys and girls will be girls. I have been in the room and have poked and teased and joked and then been invited to chat in private (my preference also Dan) so I don't see how inviting anyone interested to go to a public "game" room would put a too much of a damper on the fun. So while I'm not totally against public r/p's I do believe there should be a choice. Two rooms would be my vote and while there are other sites opening and expanding now I would prefer to do all my chatting, private and public on one site. My two cents worth. Many thanks LadyNerd. I've always viewed the main chat room as a spot for simple, generic chat. It's the primary area for people to meet and greet, talk about their day, ask questions about the site, etc. The occasional tease or hint is fine but if someone wants to engage in cyber, RP or any form of personal tickle chat, I think it's better done in private.

Trust me, I'm the furthest thing from a prude. I just think there should be a neutral ground for those who want to simply talk without feeling uncomfortable or pressured.

Oh, and ASK first before PMing 🙂
 
Its a very good question and i voted no simply because rp would interfere with the chat in the main room.

What might me a better option would be the creation of a perminant seperate room for rp with links to some kind of moderation.

The current situation of a room being set up with or without password entry more or less covers this anyway.

I undersatand that TT had this two room chat/cyber, seperate rooms system, anyone got any feed back on wither that worked.
 
We've always allowed play in the main chat. After all the room is on the TMF. It amuses some people, and in the old days many of the solid friendship the room produced arose out of people bouncing off others public cyber.

As long as the play is not annoying in nature, we find it okay.

I understand a lot of the sentiments mentioned above. I also agree with Myriads' sentiments as well (thanks for jumping in). To me, I prefer private but some don't. Well we'll see how this poll comes along in the next week or so...either way I'll respect how the majority decides as I am fairly neutral.

And maybe we should (or those who choose to do so) form a second room for public role plays. I myself have done so but often times no one comes in, or even knows to come in the rp room. Maybe a formal creation of an RP chat room (like some suggested) may be a good idea?
 
Uhh...sure...whatever tickles your pickle I suppose...hell I'm on a fetish forum...who the hell am I to judge? Knock yourselves out.
 
For the most part I don't care.....but when you have to wade through six lines of "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" every third sentence it just gets annoying, so I simply befriend my ignore button for awhile. No big deal.
 
i think most people find it to be a more private thing... it's slightly awkward to try and have a normal conversation with some others in chat if people are carrying out rp or cyber in main chat...

I'd like all cybering to be in the main chat, so that it's more active. Like grrl said, if you don't like it then you can just ignore the people doing it. Also, I didn't think cybering was allowed in the main chat, so that's good info to know myriads.
 
I'm more into lengthy, detailed rp that isn't focused on tickling, than I am into cybering... and I prefer to keep shared stories private between the participants, in much the same fashion as I don't enjoy sharing my solo written work with anybody else until it's complete. That being said, if two (or however many) people decide to cyber in the main chatroom, I don't see a problem... as long as the interest is mutual.
 
I said I don't care because I don't really use the chat room. Last time I went in, I was bombarded with private messages all asking me if I'm ticklish, ler or lee, what I'm wearing, and what size shoe I have on. Pervs.
 
iloveddub, sorry to hear about your experience in the chat room. If they would have asked those questions in the room would you have been ok with that or should they get to know you before asking those types of questions? Just curious.

Well thankfully with the new update to the room people looking to cyber can make their own room so those who care to can join and those of us who prefer to chat can do so in main. I don't think there should ever be cyber in main at this point, you'd have to be pretty attention deprived to want an entire chatroom to watch you act out tickling through words.
 
I used to cyber quite a bit, years ago, with a few particular girls. For myself, I prefer to do such activity in PC or on Yahoo IM, etc, as I find I cant concentrate on what I'm doing with all else that goes on in the main room.

As to whether it should be allowed, thats up to the mods. Myriads said yes, so its yes. It really isnt my decision as to whether its allowed in the main room. I just choose not to do so for the reasons stated above.

Quite honestly the times I've joined a chat thinking I may connect with others about things I've ran into wondrously deep conversations from guys in their forties who like other ppl ticking their wives. So yea.......that chat room sure brightened up my perspective on........ Whatever THIS is.
 
I put I don't care because well, I don't care... I mean if there's a conversation going on and someone decides to do an all out tickle attack on someone that can be distracting when you're trying to talk, but half the time the chatroom is pretty dead anyways. Although I do prefer it to be in private but it's not a big deal... I'm not one to complain about it being done... as Myraids said, it is on the TMF. a TICKLING site, it's going to happen. I know there are a lot of people on here that like to say it's just a chat room on a tickling site, it's not a tickle chat room... but it's on a tickling site where we come to talk about our interests in tickling... and that includes in the chatroom and so someone who isn't shy might decide to do that in the chatroom. It's not the end of the world if it happens.
