I loved how he basically said in his press conference (though not in so many words) "I'm rich and famous and they're not". As someone who views money and power as being really all that matter in life, good on him for saying something you're just not "supposed" to say. If it was me I would have gone further than he did. I would have said it in so many words. "At the end of the day, I'm still better than them because I'm rich and famous and they're not."

I also liked in the "Decision" when he basically said he wants success without having to work hard for it. Why should he if he doesn't have to? Yeah I know he didn't win the title, but again its fame and fortune that really matter. So good for him. I'd stab him in the back and take his fame and money from him in a heartbeat, because hey it everyone for themselves. But good for him.

and all that talking wont win him an NBA title or make him have success which is what he wants

and i don't have as much money as he does, but i have as many championship rings as he does

I sort of felt from the beginning that the Heat were not going to win the finals. They did a really good job making it to the end, but as they say "there's always next year" lol. I think the Mavericks definitely deserved it and I'm really glad they won.

See kids, when you express an honest opinion you'd better make sure it's in line with mainstream thought. Otherwise, you just have to be trolling!

I took a glance a some of his other posts, and I don't know if NonConTickler is a troll, emotionally disturbed, or a sociopath (or a combination).

Either way, it's probably best not to give this more credence than it deserves.

Yeh. I thought NC-TK'er stuck mostly to TK-discussion to troll.

Yeah, most of the honest opinions I express are in Tickling Discussion. But they're not in line with mainstream opinions. Yup, must be trolling.

I dig opinions.

But honestly, dude, you're an out and out dick about shit.

C'mon man,

Even if you are a sociopath, you have to know the way people will react when you start threads with "unpopular opinions" like this one. And you didn't start it in the sports section where it belonged, but on the main general discussion page where more people would see it.

You know that most people in general aren't even capable of sharing your disdain for human life or Randian absolute selfishness, so why bother trying to shove it down people's throats? You'll just piss everyone off, and you know it.

Unless that's what you're after.

Personally, I like NonCon's threads. I think they're at least interesting and different.

Also, a troll is not some one who is rude or mean or sarcastic. A troll is some one who deliberately posts shit s/he doesn't believe, or knows to be false, just to rile people up.

I don't think NonCon is a troll. I think he's just the ultimate cynic.

You're cheering him on for being a huge douchebag?
Yep, that's about what I expected. Hurfdurf.

I calls it like I sees it, and I see vitriolic fury being flung at a guy who really isn't doing anything other than reminding us once every couple of months that he believes in pure self-interest. I think his posts are immature and pretty self-indulgent, but it gives me something to think about. He's nowhere near as bad as other people on this forum.

I was talking to him, haha. Should've quoted the op, my bad.

really noncon money and power is everything? that's pretty sad. I actually liked Lebron James for a while but all his antics and what he said in the press conference makes him a dumbass. he severly hurt his reputation on and off the court. he didn't do much to help the heat win in the finals and then was making wise ass comments about nowitzki and then going after everyone who was rooting against him, he made himself look like a fool.

Keep to the topic of the thread.

Debate the point not the person.

LeBron James is welcome to feel and believe anything he wants. I admit though, I think it's sad when a person feels that the only thing that matters is money and popularity.

I think the subject in question, Mr James, is a complete douche bag egomaniac. All that talent he has, and he just coasts. Then, blames everyone else when things go wrong. He should take a lesson from the real star of the team, Wade. At least he never quit on them, fought hard the whole time.

For him to do that press conference after they failed miserably...again, and say I'm still the king and everyone else is trash, is really reprehensible. He is hemorraging fans from his once strong posse. I'm not sure there is a more hated athlete in sports. He even makes T.O. look like a saint.

Good riddance. Cleveland should be happy that he's Miami's problem now.

As far as what LeBron said, I actually didn't get "I'm rich & famous and you're not" from what he said. I got "I have a life, I have better things to do than hate on people. And it sounds like a lot of my haters don't."

Thank goodness, I don't like Soccer, anyways! Oh, this is a Basketball player; oooops - Nevermind!

Him being rich and famous does NOT make him better than me. Money does not determine who's "better" than someone else. It only determines that he has more......lots more........money than me.

The man is a clear example of the only problem money solves is poverty. He has a ton of issues he needs to address.....and he certainly needs to grow up and learn the concept of "team player" especially since as long as he's with Miami, he'll be no more than a part of the process. Always the bridesmaid........never Dwayne Wade!

I also liked in the "Decision" when he basically said he wants success without having to work hard for it.

That separates him from being the leader (hence the "King") and Dwayne Wade's sidekick. He had a team that he could've gotten everything he wanted. Oh....wait.....he did get EVERYTHING he wanted. He just couldn't seal the deal as the leader so he sells his soul to follow Dwayne Wade's shadow for the rest of his career....sweet.

Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, or any of the other greats in basketball did NOT have the same attitude. They were willing to give it their all in order to get the rings and titles. Maybe that's why they succeeded and Lebron quit and played second fiddle to another team.

One day you may realize that success is synonymous with WORK. Even Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian (who were first known as famous for being famous) eventually had to put the work in to make the money and stay successful. And the sex tapes probably didn't hurt.

Why should he if he doesn't have to? Yeah I know he didn't win the title, but again its fame and fortune that really matter.

Fame and fortune are what really matter to you, but Lebron wants rings and titles; he took a paycut to join Miami. So it's NOT just money and fame that do it for him. Dan Gilbert told him there were no shortcuts, and looks like he's right huh?

I don't think he's feeling so good right now which is why he said that everyone who's hating on him will wake up the next day to their "miserable" lives. I know of a city that ain't too miserable right now.....at his expense.:rowfull: They feel great and the hits keep coming! They would've been "miserable" had the Heat won the finals.....but that didn't happen.

I'd stab him in the back and take his fame and money from him in a heartbeat, because hey it everyone for themselves.

Looks like you'll never learn; Lebron has what he has because he's been working at it since he was a kid. He made the sacrifices, endured the pain, and embraced the process it took to get him into the NBA as an 18 year old teenage phenom. No one gave him what he has; he actually.....wait for it........hold on.......

WORKED FOR IT!

If you're not going to put the work in, you'll continue to sit on the sidelines living vicariously through everyone else while putting a dent in the couch with your ass!

I don't foresee myself ever making Lebron's money, but I certainly won't dismiss the possibility. I'm not even employed right now, but it's not because I sit around waiting for someone else to do it for me. I've learned new skills that fit in with the needs and issues this economy provides and I've managed to help myself and a few people in the process. I have nowhere to go but up as long as I continue to get off my butt and put in the necessary work.

But good for him.

I couldn't agree more; as soon as his maturity level catches up with his talent, only the sky will be his limit.

*facepalm*

I'm a very casual sports fan at best, but isn't that Cleveland team that finished with 19 wins, the second worst record in the NBA, basically the same team that LeBron was trying to carry on his back the year before? From what I understand LeBron had been waiting and waiting for that organization to build a team around him and every year it was him carrying an awful team on his back. You know how good Michael Jordan's "supporting cast" was? When he was playing minor league baseball they came within one game of going to the NBA Finals WITHOUT HIM! That's building a team around someone. So no LeBron didn't get everything he wanted in Cleveland. Just almost everything 😀

Which is why it was so puzzling to me that the same guy who carried that load of stiffs to the best record in the NBA every year, struggled so much in Miami with Wade and Bosh helping him. It was like, here's a guy who almost carried a bad Cleveland team on his back to an NBA title a few years ago, PLUS Wade and Bosh! That pre-season pep rally was a bit much, but I thought they had good reason to predict several titles. If the same LeBron James that carried the Cavs on his back all those years had showed up consistently in Miami, it would've been a much different story this season I think.

Even Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian (who were first known as famous for being famous) eventually had to put the work in to make the money and stay successful. And the sex tapes probably didn't hurt.

They didn't have to. They could have gone to mommy & daddy with their hands out their whole lives. Paris I think is someday going to get the entire Hilton fortune (I'm assuming split with any siblings she has). Now if they were told by their families that until you inherit our money you're going to have to work for your own, then in that case they'd have to. But I don't think they ever really had to. In Paris' case I'm actually surprised she's ever worked at all, instead of just partying, shopping, traveling, etc. She doesn't seem to have any real ambition beyond that.

Merkle's Boner, very clever... Off the top of my head, Johnnie Evers retrieved the ball?
