Playboy boss Hugh Hefner has reportedly gone deaf after taking too much Viagra.

Twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon, who have reportedly returned to live with the 85-year-old at his famous Playboy Mansion, revealed he doesn't care about his hearing loss as he wants to continue having sex.

Karissa told UK newspaper The Sun: "He said he would rather have sex than have his hearing. He has hearing aids now and even then he can only hear out of one ear.

"You have to lean down and talk into his good ear for him to understand you. We could sit right next to him and he wouldn't have a clue what we said."

Hefner penned something called the 'Playboy Philosophy" (read it here:http://markettorrent.com/community/5469#p5469 ) starting in 1962. It was published in installments in the magazine, and over time came to be a form of mission statement for the Playboy brand in general.

I always found it to be a progressive document in its whole, and a thoughtful reaction to the amazingly conservative views on sexuality and sex that America was saddled with. Playboy and Hefner played a huge part in reshaping the nations views on sexuality. It's a piece of the sexual revolution that many overlook and it's worth learning about.

Hefner lived his own philosophy it's led to some good and bad for him. In some ways I've come to feel sorry for him in the last years, as he's become in many ways, a prisoner to his own views, unable to change in the face of his advancing years. But that is another story.

His Philosophy however is well worth the read.

Hearing loss because of Viagra? Come on, the guy 85 years old …

And some of us married gentleman are more than aware that loosing our hearing as we age is to be considered a blessing anyway. No doubt Hef is counting his every day …
 
He's not really losing his hearing...

He just doesn't want to have to talk to them afterward. 😀

Oh man, does anyone else think it's fucking creepy for an 85 year old man to be fucking (in the public eye!) as many young pretty blonde things as his personal fortune will allow him?

I understand it's Hugh Heffner, after all, but I still think it's nasty seeing this old dude parading around his cadre of personal prostitutes.

What you describe is a cultural prejudice.

The right or wrongness of it is subjective.

What I find sad is a bit different. In the most recent Playboy Hefner described how he felt about the woman that he thought he was to marry, and in his eyes she was someone who loved him, shared his likes and values, and would be the partner that he'd end his life with. The interview with him shows a man very much in love.

The fact that his soon to be bride had planned to leave him at the alter while a reality show filmed, to create maximal impact, and ended up ditching him a week early because the plan leaked was the other side of the reality.

The sad thing is that Hef's view was so disconnected from what was happening. He saw what he wanted, and believed that he was being loved for who he was, and not what he had/could do for the woman.

Hefner's world view prevented him from seeing himself as target to be used. He felt his age was not a factor, and lived as if he was younger. Forgetting that in most cases a 60 year age gap doesn't work for very real reasons.

The same reasons our culture has created the prejudices that almost all of us feel when we see such relationships. We think "she's a gold digger' or "He's buying the relationship"

If the women who live and have sex with Hugh Hefner were not compensated for their time and services with gigantic paychecks and near-constant media exposure, perhaps I wouldn't be so culturally prejudiced.

Perhaps if Heff had someone closer to his own age, or at least a regular person and not not one but three Barbie dolls as his life mates, maybe I wouldn't be so saddened.


I honestly think none of the women he's been with in the past 15 years have been attracted to him... and I bet you he knows it to.

It's cosmopolitan when you're younger, but in your elder years it's farcical... but this is just my opinion on the matter.
 
Hearing loss? Well the guy is like in his mid eighties, isn't he?

I take Viagra from time to time. The worst that ever happened to me was when the pill got lodged in my throat.

I ended up with a stiff neck.
 
I guess he's lucky he didn't put an eye out............ 😉 I think Hef dating women his age(raise your hand if you want to see that picture or video) would be like a race car driver driving a Corolla off track.

I'd love to see that video too... and I betcha the Corolla is a far more comfortable ride than a race car!
