How long can you spend at the TMF?

There really is a lot to do here, especially when there's nothing else to do. How long can you stay at the TMF for one sitting? I think I spent about 5 hours here one day when it was snowing just reading stories and popping in and out of the chat.

I'm normally on and off throughout the day. Generally, I just pop in and check up on threads I'm following. If I have time for more, I stick around and have a little fun. Otherwise, I'm off in a few minutes. But, there are times when I'll stick around longer. Most times, if I'm online for any length of time, I'm popping in and out of the forum as I do other things.

I work from a home office and I'll pop on here throughout the day as I find my mind wandering from work stuff. It's refreshing 😀

When I'm on the road and holed up in my hotel room at night, I can spend a little longer reading stories and stuff.

i run a small ebay business from home so i can pop in and out of the TMF to check it out most of the time. ive found it to be a wonderful stress reliever after having to deal with the occaisional unhappy customer.

For me it depends on what is going on in here. Anywhere from a half hour to six hours.

Pop in and out during the day if I get a chance. Nightime usually seems to be a little livelier.But will also not log on for a few days in a row so that NEW threads will be added & discussed.

7 hours is the longest I've ever spent at one sitting. 😀
HDS must have done more than that the day he made 600 posts in 24 hours. 😱

It all depends on the day and what I might have going on.
Much like others, anywhere from half and hour here and there, to about 2 to 4 hours at a time.

I tend to bounce around on a couple of different websites at a time. Post a little, then go somewhere else, drop back refresh page, and repeat.

By the way Mils, when HDS clocked 600 posts in 24 hours, by my calculations that is 25 posts per hour; 2.4 posts every minute. It must have been before they imposed the 30 second rule. More than likely it's WHY they imposed the 30-second rule.

I think the longest I have been on is an hour or two at one sitting and that is reading and writing a lot of replies to other posts after being away for long periods of time. In a single 24 hour period probably at the most 3 hours, on average I am on 2-3 hours a week.

Sometimes it looks like I am on for long stretches at a time but I am just leaving the browser open to the page as I have gone to do other things and did not log out.

No, it was one post every 2.4 minutes.

(25 posts / 1 hour) = (25 posts / 60 minutes) = (1 post / 2.4 minutes)

Gotcha. I was really tired last night, working an issue with one of our nodes in Westland, MI. For some reason, I found your post regarding HDS hysterically funny, and was laughing uncontrollably at the thought of a guy spending an entire day, sunup to sundown, madly posting everywhere. What can I say. When I'm that tired, I'm easily amused. 😀

The longest time i've spent here from one sitting was around 5 hours... I usually only come here at night when my work from University is all done. Normally my average "staying time" is from 1 to 2 hours.

Most times, I'm only here on the weekends. I don't really want to hang around here during the week as I get off work kind of late.

My usual searching/reading/posting times are sunday afternoons with the occasional saturday post here and there.

It's rare that I post during the week. But it has been known to happen.

I do lurk from time to time during the week, but that is also rare.
