Old people will remember this video, you youngins make sure you watch the whole thing: :xbee:

I always think of the end of this vid, when she finds all the people like her...and after I'm done bawling (I'm a sappy idiot, shut up) I remember how amazingly loved and understood I felt after my first NEST and still feel every darn year

So Bee costumes is the theme this year....?

*awaits Bella's shoe upside his ass*

Being accepted at a tickle gathering

The only weird thing is checking into a hotel with them knowing you are there for a tickle gathering. A lot of people find tickling weird and I would not want everone knowing my business. Tickling inside a hotel room is different.

I don't see it as being all that different from checking in and them knowing you are there for a Shriner's, beer wholesaler, or Star Trek convention. A lot of people may find these groups weird. In business the hotel just wants to fill as many rooms as possible for as long as possible. What the hotel staff personally thinks is entirely up tp them........although some staff that I have talked to thinks we are great and I think we even had some converts.

Eh, I've been attending and running hotel events like this for 10 yrs; the staff doesn't care and I've never had them make us feel uncomfortable, and I promise you they've seen WAY weirder folks than us :juggle:

Remember the young lady at the hotel in 2007?She seemed rather intrigued by the whole thing. And the bartender from the hotel last year?I seem to remember she had a certain member here jumping everytime she came near him.LMAO.

Yes,yes,and yes.🙂

Since I can't make it to this year's NEST, Lee approached me to write a little something for the NEST booklet. I did and it describes how I felt my first NEST and how the experience affected me, etc.

I don't want to give away what I wrote, and I'll probably post the story in its entirety after NEST weekend, but I will say this.

It was amazing and has changed my life for the better.

PS. That song has been my favorite for years.

1. I love that song!
2. I WANT TO DANCE IN A BEE COSTUME!
3. I KNOW NEST will be just like that, and I'm SO excited!

I love the video and the theme it represents, but in mind it falls short of portraying NEST.
I attended a NEST gathering, and even though I had a great time and met many nice people, there were no magical moments where I felt a sense of belonging.
It is still the " real " world and like all real worlds, there are still bridges one must cross.

I'll second that!

My first time, I learned a lot about a lot of folks and their character. Really interesting stuff. And I found a little handful of really quality people, and have since learned exactly how great they really are.

Learning like this ain't to be missed. 🙂

Leave it to Bella to start another great thread

That is IT, it is just IT. To anyone out there who has felt just a little bit OUTSIDE, NEST won't bring you into their INSIDE, it will give you your own INSIDE...a glorious place where we all have fun and make excellent friends and know that we belong.
