Goodness, that sounds terrifying! What was it about the shadow person that clearly identified it as a shadow person?

The aura it gave off in the room that it tried to choke me, and that it seemed to retreat as i screamed. i've read that they're not fond of noise.

does this gaurantee that it WAS a shadow person? NO. I'll admit that i can't PROVE it was, neither can I PROVE it wasn't.

There isn't a whole lot of evidence that it could be a member of some shadow race of entities which is afraid of noise but nonetheless flits around our planet periodically making people afraid briefly for no apparent reason while they are trying to sleep, either.

I'd have to read the book to form my own impression, but it never hurts to investigate the opinions of others. I've read many similar books, both when I was a believer trying to bolster my faith, and since I gave up on my childhood beliefs. It's never particularly difficult to demolish the claims made therein, but I freely confess this book may be different; I don't know since I've not read it yet.

The reviews are not encouraging.

These are apparently characteristics of Shadow People (I've never heard of these Shadow People before so I'll take your word for it) but I think being "afraid of noise" and having an "aura" are not particularly specific. Lots of things don't like loud noises, and an aura is of course your own subjective experience so I can't really define it for you.

I'm really curious what you think it's motives were.

One thing to keep in mind is that all things - good, bad, or indifferent - are only temporary. No matter what is happening right now, things will be different tomorrow, one way or another.

So it's worth truly being mindful of the good moments, and enjoying them to the fullest. And it's worth not worrying so much about the rough times, because they too will pass in time.

So far in life you've managed to overcome or survive 100% of the challenges thrown at you. That's a very good success rate! It should make you confident of the challenges still ahead of you. 🙂

Its fine I myself am going through a tough time right now but I know for a fact it will get better some might call FAITH but I believe things happen for a reason I wanna tell you to keep faith and god has a plan for you and hasn't forgotten about you alot of times I go through a tuff time but it always gets better maybe not to much better but better than before hopefully your problems turn for the best and sorry that I insulted.

If i had to choice i'd want to choose sleep paralysis simply on the matter that an etheral being that hated me so much it wanted to kill me was n my room

Scott Hahn is a strong apologist and not one of the clockwork maker theorists of creationism. at last he wasnt during his talk on ewtn.

It was acdry, hard almost deserty type feel, but it seemed alive with hatred and melevolance. had a hard time breathing for a slipt second, (that is an issue to show sleep paralysis i know) My room was jet black at the time but i saw this thing as clear as day. I can only say im glad there were no traditional red eyes, i would have had a heart attack.

As for its motives, like i said the hatred was strong. And as i've read accounts that these things lik to strangle people in their sleep i have a pretty good idea of what t wanted.

though perhaps i owed it money in some other universe? lol humor definately scratches away fear

Though I lack faith in God, I have every faith in humanity. Though our ideas differ, I wish no harm on any person and I hope you pull through whatever's troubling you. You're clearly a determined person, so I suspect you'll get through whatever it is that's bothering you just fine, with or without God.

It makes me sad to post a one-star review of any book, but in this case, I walked away after finishing this book with a burning desire to educate people. Be warned: while it may feel satisfying to pummel Dawkins whose been much-aligned because of what many feel is an inflated ego, it's founded more on ignorance of what Dawkins actually writes than real, hard facts.

That's not exactly positive. The rest were similar. The book was categorized as being full of misconceptions, misapprehensions, and just plain misinformation.

Again, I've not yet read it so I can't say for certain, but if everyone who read it thought it was poorly done, it doesn't auger well.

More likely, however, you were simply suffering a fairly well understood phenomenon that exactly matches your symptoms and is exceptionally common - and that has never killed anyone, ever.

So I wouldn't sweat it.

People will also start wondering if God really exists and believers will leave the Christian faith (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, 1 Timothy 4:1-2, and 2 Peter 2:1-3). Ticklish vix the place where it happen all of this I explained the the first pages look back and tell me what kind of logical explaination could determin that it was not a paranormal act happening I believe in the paranormal and I don't know the history of the building but in the cameras you can clearly see the knife on top of the box just sitting and quickly just flying off the box into the floor and land threw three folded boxes at an impossible angle the time frame was to close together for some one to doctored the caMeras the neiborhood is small there were no fans blowng, no constrution site for miles, so you tell me what could've happen so far no one can't seem to figure it out .

I'm not knocking you at all Shane. I wasn't there I didn't see it and if I was I'd probably feel the way you do too. That's why I said I'd quit lol.

No, it's not bothering me at all. I just don't see a "great discussion" i see two sides that are never going to change their opinion. So to me it makes no sense to go in circles. But now i am taking away from the OP so i will just leave now.

Oh I don't know. It may take some time, but people can learn. I used to be very religious and believe all that paranormal stuff too. It took years of people pointing out that there was zero evidence before I took them up on their challenge and went to find evidence to prove them wrong... and found out they probably weren't wrong.

I became an atheist because I set out to prove the existence of God and found over and over that religion was simply lying. And I got sick of being lied to.

And I could still be wrong! Somebody on this thread may provide me with genuine evidence of God, genuine evidence of the paranormal. So far I've had a solid, rational answer for all their attempts, but that may change! So it's worth listening to what they have to say. Similarly, the people on this thread who so far disagree with me may see that I have had very rational and provable things to say and come round, or may set out to disprove me and find I'm right (as happened to me).

It's a debate worth having. 🙂
