Interesting Law in Virginia involving tickling

HAHAHAHAHA Heehee... Gold. Pure gold. I can't stand wrestling, and those guys who can't seem to figure out how to wear pants properly are such jerks. Seriously, the idea of it came from Prison inmates. Now I don't know if these fellows who 'low ride' (to use the parlance of today) can put two and two together but let me ask you this; why would someone in prison wear their pants down low...?

WWE, I watch it now and again, so sometimes it's ok. The saggy pants thing, I like that law. I don't even like when fine women do it. I mean really. Sometimes it really gets ridiculous. If you can see half her thong because of how low her pants are, that's just tacky.

And guys, why? I have read in a few places, that did come from prison. The pants prisoners were given were often too big, and they sagged. And some copied that. It's kinda ridiculous.

Honestly, it might shouldn't be illegal, looking like a moron should be left up to the individul.

On the plus side,most laws like this are leftovers from the 18th century and most officials have forgotten they ever existed,let along enforced them.

Being that I've from Virginia, this law is true, but if it were serious half of the state would be in jail by now, because in the town that I live in especially when I went to high school had no problem tickling a girl. There are many stupid laws in Virginia. They just made it illegal for men to wear pants that sag off where the boxers are noticeable in Richmond.

I know about both of those laws. Virginia, eh ? So this means that FBI (Quantico) doesn't have the right to tickle information out of a suspect or a terrorist, but CIA (Langley) and NSA (Fort Meade) do ? Does this mean CIA and NSA have much more power than FBI ? So this is why Fox Mulder was never able to force Krycek or CSM to cooperate : he couldn't tickle them. 😀

Something which usually makes US justice system kinda... strange is the heavy use of case laws instead of voted laws. In this particular case of stupid laws, you must certainly be able to find a judge's decision which will help someone to avoid prison or a heavy fee because all he did was to have fun !

Usually when a law is presented for submission, there is a problem with the 'activity' which someone (or many people) complain about & force the politicians to look into it.
That means that someone (or many people) have been tickling women's chins with feather dusters. Is it possible that there was a tickle epidemic at that time?

I am a political science major in college so while researching laws of states I came across many sites of Dumb Laws. I pray there is no men from Virginia here. According to the law book in Virginia it is illegal to tickle women. Well I guess I can rule out a transfer to UV and VCU. Also in Maine it is illegal for a man to tickle a women under a chin with a featherduster. What the heck? Seriously? Why do we keep electing officals who make laws such as these?

Well I am a law enforcement officer in Virginia for 22 years now and the law as you mentioned has been on the books for many many years. I believe however, and don't quote me on this but, that law was from centuries ago during the colonial times and so today while it remains on the books it is not enforced. OMG if it were I guess I need to be picking out my prison clothes then. It is just no one has come forward and inserted a removal bill to have it recinded.

Just be carefull ALL tickling technically is illegal IF and only IF the "lee" does not want it then it can become assault

Witch makes an excellent point. This law is likely antiquated, and can never be enforced.
In cases of tickling where the lee doesnt want it, one can be arrested if it's a stranger or such, where the ler and lee dont know each other, but again, say if there is a wife or girlfriend who hates to be tickled, and her husband or boyfriend tickles her, that isnt a case where the guy is likely to be arrested. If so, with as many women who hate to be tickled in this world, and with the amount of tickling that must go on in relationships, you'd have half or more of the significant others in jail by now. Common sense and discretion is the key. I dont think I'd ever tickle anyone I didnt know quite well under any circumstances, unless it was an arranged tickle gathering with willing lees, for fear of the assault thing. I could never see tickling a stranger. It just would seem too risky to me to take the chance. However, I can virtuallly guarantee that even if I moved to Virginia, you'd have to fit me with prison clothes too, because I'd be violating the no tickling of a woman law quite frequently if I had a gf or wife

They were both in their late 20's too, so nothing underage was involved, it was purely because it was out of wedlock. She couldn't even visit him in jail because the law classified her as a "victim". That was in the last 7 or 8 years.

It's weird how ancient laws like this come about. Usually it's because of one incident that gets outlawed and never repealed. So I wouldn't be surprised if the person who introduced this law was a very ticklish woman who got tickled by a man and hated it so much that she made a law against it, and it was never repealed and so still applies.

I believe what happened was that two neighbours got involved in a row during the early hours of the morning and the police were called. One guy, standing there in his boxers gave an account of what had happened, during which he mentioned he had been sleeping with his girlfriend prior to the incident. Going o/t slightly and questioning him further, the cops ascertained that he and his girlfriend had a sexual relationship outside of being married. They arrested him on the spot and carted him off to the station in his shorts.

That's how the police came to be involved in the case, as I understood it. They came out to the disturbance and learned of the evil, wicked deed whilst taking an initial statement in the home of the guy they then arrested.

Witch, I want to ask you something. Since you are a Virginia state law enforcement officer. Although this might be an unusual place for one to tickle a woman. Say, for example, a cop on duty was walking in a shopping mall in Virginia, and I had a girlfriend, and walked through this shopping mall with her, and gave her a playful tickle on the sides, does this mean I'd be arrested for doing so, even if it was a romantic relationship where touching between the two parties was consensual? If so, that is a seriously screwed up law that needs to be changed! I would be curious to know the rules on this when you get a chance. Thanks.
