race and marriage
My sister is in an inter-racial marriage and things are fine. It definitely doesn't bother me or anyone in my direct family. Her husband is a really nice and funny guy.
In all honesty what bothered me more and is hard for me to get over is that she covnerted AWAY from Judism and became a Baptist. I still love her and respect her decision but I have more of an issue with that than the race of the person she married. In fact if she never converted and married someone of a different religion, it wouldn't bother me. It was the conversion that doesn't 100% settle with me.
Whe she told my mother that she was dating someone black (this covnersation was before the engagement) the conversation went like this:
Sis: "[Name], the man I'm dating is black."
Mom: "Does he beat you?"
Sis: "No."
Mom: "Does he have a job?"
Sis: "Yes."
Mom: "Do you like him?"
Sis: "Yes."
Mom: "Okay."
That was it, my parents didn't care what race he was, just that he treated her well. So that's all you should keep in mind for yourself. People will have an issue with it and it is something you should be ready to deal with but I wouldn't obsess over it.

But I have a question do you think I am rushing into this too fast? I am young(21) so I don't know. I really love and care for her deeply. What should I do? Tell her? Also I don't know if she feels the same way about me.
