Is it me, or does it seem like every dood with a willing gal pal, cheap video camera, and really crappy skilz is billing themselves a "Tickling Video Producer and flooding the market with fuzzy, badly-lit, less than mediocre b.s. tickling vids, shot in a Motel Six...

And don't get me wrong, I am happy to have those with a passion for the fetish engage, attempt, build, etc. Its survival of the fittest, and the best will win out.

I appreciate the shotgun affect, or seeing what sticks, especially since I remember a time when tick vids where as rare as hen's teeth, or even more so.

No, my beef is with the quick buck crowd of me-too's.

Most companies start out small. Amateur videos are easy to make, but they don't sell well and won't last long unless they up the quality to Tickle Abuse/Last Laugh/Any other site that's been around more than 3 years's standards.

Just like you-tube...if you don't like it, don't watch it.

In defense of amateurs......

Some of the best tickle footage I’ve ever seen have come from amateurs with simple equipment in homes or hotel rooms. “Bill and L” comes to mind. It’s always been the quality of the ticklee that’s most important to me.

I’ll take a crappy made amateur clip with a fantastic ticklee over a professional production with mediocre lees anytime.

All things being equal, I would rather have amateurs attempting to make tickle media than not trying at all.You can find some real hidden talent sometimes.

Everybody has to start somewhere and at least they started. Hopefully they are interested in improving themselves and their product and will put forth effort to learn as they go and increase their skills. Also, hopefully they will make at least enough to be able to put back into their business to improve equipment, lighting, etc. If we are kind enough to give them positive feedback in a constructive tone and they receive it as such we may all benefit in the long run.

The more, the merrier

Right on.

I think that it's great that people are trying to share their love with others. Some aren't the best quality, but I'll take a video of two people enjoying themselves than one where the lights are nice and the angles are well done, but the model looks like she's only there for the money.

On the one hand I agree that "everyone has to start somewhere". The smaller players have their place otherwise the big boys will just continue to dominate the market (= boring).

But on the other hand, I hope the smaller operators see that the market is so saturated that they need to find interesting ways to get people to buy their stuff, despite their lower quality. There's no point everyone doing exactly the same thing.

I think its models trying to make a quick buck. Producers like Tickle Abuse and Skelyrata you know they do it because they love it. I personally like Tickle Abuse's stuff better when Tommy did the tickling, you knew he was having the time of his life tickling the models, but I totally respect how they have grown to be the best producer I think ever. I totally love Skelyrata too, he is living the dream I wish I could be living.

All I know is that I dont want to put the effort into making samples and posting them here anymore. Too many people bump their own threads without any recourse and I think its BS. I honestly think that the producers and the starter of a thread should NOT be allowed to bump any thread that he/she has started because its gettting rididculous.

I am going to post samples on my website only from now on. I think its great when I see a new producer starting out, no matter what the quality is because if that producer is dedicated, its only going to get better. But when when producers constantly bump their own shit, its disgusting self promotion.

Tommy, it will be shame to see you not posting samples here. I also agree with you that operators who bump their own promotional threads are low. If they want their product to be on top of the threads constantly then it is up to them to be creative in what they make.

Your not speaking of a producer interacting with replies in their own thread; but rather, just replying to themselves or reviving an old zombie thread, correct?

That's my point, there is lack of dedication, or even interest in the fetish, I had just observed there seem to be a lot of hacks out there recently, to make a quick buck And, yes, some of them have been doing it a long time with no care for improving quality - yet demand the same asking price as high quality producers, such as yourself.

The start-outs that have a passion, and make an effort to grow better with time are a blessing to the community - but, I assume with the ease of recent technology, its easy for joe-make-a-buck, to jump on the band wagon with only a quick dollar in mind. Oh well, as a member said above;

"Vote with your wallet."

Holy shit dude... we might be twins :jester:

In regards to thread bumping in clips.

Tommy, I'm sorry to lose Tickle Abuses clips and images from the area. Many people have enjoyed them. I honestly regret your choice.

There is almost no way for us to stop thread bumping in that forum. When a producer does it a lot we politely ask them to cut back on it. But it's a very subjective thing. Threads invite discussion and often producers are having real conversations with members who have posted to the threads.

I don't have the man power to sit on every thread in clips and delete any comment made by a producer that bumps. I would need to detail staff to investigate every user that posts to weed out the sock accounts that are there to bump. The hours involved are simply not there. We try and strike a balance where things hang out on the first 5 pages for a decently reasonable time. Most users seem to check the first several pages, knowing that page 1 is not the 'full' contents.

The clips forum has long been a FREE advertising platform for the entire tickling community. In that it is FREE those that post there are pretty much getting what they are paying for, a place where folks may see their stuff. A lot of folks. Dedicated forums that can be bought under our advertising program produce good results for many producers. Tickle Chicks and MTJ have long been parts of this program, enjoying their own sections and having no issues with bumping there.

All that said:

If there is a specific producer that any other one feels is bumping above and beyond the call drop me a line. I'll talk with them if it's the case.

I don't know if this is even possible, but would it be possible to adjust something in vBulletin to prevent people from being able to post twice in a row in a particular thread? I.E. If "Producer X" posts a reply to a thread, vBulletin would prevent him from posting in that thread again unless/until someone else posted first?

It wouldn't kill all the bumping, but it would prevent the most blatant form of it without requiring additional mod-hours.

I can enact it forum wide. Where you can't post directly after yourself. That would cause some issues in the story forums where folks post multiple chapters in the same thread.

It would also do nothing to stop replies to other posts in the thread, including the generic 'thanx for the kind words!' which I believe is the sort of bumping that has troubled Tommy.

It wouldn't stop the sock bumping also.

Mostly this is a problem that comes down to politeness. Since the forum if free, people can 'take' as much as they want. Some people will push the greed bar all the way up to 10. It's human nature.

I do my best to talk to such people when someone takes the time to tell me they feel someone is way out of line. No one has talked to me in months about excessive clip bumping. I can't do much to solve issues that I am not aware of. And looking at clips I still have no specific idea who folks feel are taking too much. Almost every producer has multiple bumped threads there.

To be frank it annoys me. Mostly because I know there is no solution other then standing over people with a stick and wacking fingers. I like to think adults can behave in socially polite and responsible ways. But after 10 years here I know they won't.

On the contrary, I've been bored by the drought of interesting clips and look forward to people coming out with new, if not entirely innovative, material.

People just like to whine.

I wonder, could anything be done like what was done for artists, where major posters (continuous over a long period of time) can be given a section with their name on it right in the clips section where they can post only their own threads with content? That way people can head right to the section of the producer they're seeking out and no one has to worry about bumping older threads in the sections because it's ALL of their content.

Thats the issue, most of these quick-bucks are not making new interesting clips, just formulaic, just monkey see monkey do, with no interest other than getting a slice of the pie as cheaply as possible. The innovators are rare to the extreme as of late.
