NEST 2010 Photos are NOW READY!

Amn....I know your intentions were good, but for the future perhaps I can offer a suggestion. If PMing 75-100 people is too much (I honestly think it is) then try this.

Post in Gen Dis a thread that simply states: 2010 NEST attendees please read.

In the thread itself make it simple: I have posted a thread in the NEST Gathering section. I know this late in the year not many of you check out the NEST portion in the Gathering section so I wanted to let you all know.

Then in the NEST Section you can post whatever you want...including your jokes and what not. If people intentionally go to the NEST Section and see a post with joke pictures and a "Sorry only 2010 NEST attendees get to see the real pictures" then its tough if they get up in arms over it. Because you made a post for a specific group of people to go to a place where they know after last years or so issues about NEST Threads.

Going forward I think that may be the best course of action.

On a related note, way too many people are getting worked over about nothing and reading too much into what people say to jump up and down and scream "EXCLUSIVES!!!" or as a matter of fact on many subjects just for the hell of having something to complain about.

Ask yourselves, do the things that go on that you get worked over REALLY affect your everyday daily life?

I have not posted on a lot of these topics because they don't bother me. But honestly its becoming a little more annoying each day. So its starting to register on the official RobAce "Who's taco do I need bend-o-meter".

Besides...I'm starting to get bored.

I have to go with Tony and DSKODJ.

This thread was in very poor taste and served little more than to thumb a nose at all those who didn't attend.

Very cliquish behavior to be sure.

To each their own but knowing Amnesiac and having gone to NEST I know that was not his intention. As for the pic itself, which seemed to be the original issue in the matter, that pic needs to be understood for it's context and Euphoricy's comment best explains that - for a lack of a better way of saying only those who went to NEST 2010 would understand the context. While Amnesiac could have posted this better, as RobAce suggested, the fact that he posted any notice at all is great and for those newbies and lurkers who may read this or have posted here - while I fully respect your opinions, I feel that by approaching this with a closed mind will only serve to alienate yourself from attending and/or enjoying yourself at gatherings and even on the forum. You really need to have an open and understanding mind to fully appreciate not only the gatherings and the risks/rewards they represent but also the forum itself.

In the end, whatever works for you, works for you - all I'm saying is IMO it's better to have an open mind than a closed one.

Why is it so hard to consider that NEST photos going to only those who attended is that big of a deal? It's easier than pming 75-100+ people. Putting it up all over? The shy people and the newbies might be even further pushed from ever wanting to attend a gathering because their face is plastered on the web.

I find complaining about this at all is just bitching for the sake of bitching. Got a problem with it? Grow up. Seriously. Stop reading some insular agenda into everything.

The majority of objections to this thread aren't so much about people wanting the photos and being denied access. It's the way everybody was lured into the the thread by the title and not finding out until the third paragraph that "sorry, rules is rules." Don't even try to tell me that wasn't done by design.

I admit the message "you weren't there, sucks to be you" is better veiled this year than last, but only barely so. Especially given the "consolation prize" that only served to rub everybody's nose in it. Again, clearly deliberate.

Idk call me crazy but I don't think the females that went to NEST want creepy guys on an internet forum jackin off to pictures of them .

Can someone explain to me why NEST is a "clique" when it's open to everyone?

And besides, I thought we outgrew cliques when we left highschool.

Get over it. Seriously.

You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. No matter if it's in Gen Dis or in the NEST section or PM'ed to only the people who attended you're gonna catch shit.

Some people just look for things to be offended by so they can complain. NEST has been going on for years. Pictures from NEST are for those who attended only. Pull the redwood out of your asses and deal with that little fact.

i didnt get worked up over anything. i was just saying that threads like this only continue to further the idea that certain people here are in a so called clique and those ideas that certain people get special privileges. i know that that idea will never go away because the cliquers dont really care about annoying a whole mess of people. just dont express your annoyance at them cuz then your a baby that needs to get over it. i love how that works lol. for the record though, i know amnesiac meant well and wasnt trying to be a snob at all.

Alright, the bitchers can just STFU. Please... I didn't even attend this gathering, and I can support the idea of privacy just as a reasonable consideration.

Also, please just stop whining about being "lured" by a thread title. That is so trite and lame.

A part of me is always a bit suprised to see the amount of people getting worked up over the silliest things.

I think that if a volunteer from NEST offers to go through TONS of photos, and painstakingly protects every one's privacy, and then uploads only approved photos to photobucket for attendees to view, that must have taken a really long time.

If I was doing this work unpaid as a service to others and I wasn't appreciated, this would irritate me. I think the NESTERS should be grateful publicly and just say thank you to Amnesiac for doing this for them.

Everyone likes to be appreciated.

I also don't really think it's that big a deal if others want to say they are disappointed that viewing this special treat is not possible.

Logical, smart, AND beautiful.....sigh....♥♥♥

I wants to see 🙁...You PM'd me and never gave me a link, fail face 😛 hahahahahaha

I'm sure that anyone who wants to share their pictures will, and if not, that's what we get for not going in the first place. I do not feel alienated or exiled in any way as a result of this privacy.

^anyone who shares these pictures with those who didn't attend should be ashamed of themselves.... I'd consider it a violation

Pre NEST:"NEST is more of a bunch of people getting together hanging around than it is a 'giant tickle orgy' lol"

Post NEST:"For the love of God do not show the pictures..."

Ticklecon gets a lot rowdier than expected every year?

Seriously though, I actually do understand why, but it still makes me laugh.

I think he means shares them the way that I've shared one of Euphoricy and me in my signature - and actually the one she has shared of us in her signature, as well - with everyone in the picture's permission. 🙂

LOLOL That does sound funny 🙂 But believe it or not, I don't think I came across one picture of anything more hardcore than playful tickling that was probably done in the lobby. The privacy is for people's faces - not activities people are ashamed of 😛
