What does Scung mean?

Scung was the nickname of Carl Furillo because his favorite food to eat was scungilli, which some of his teammates didn't even like to look at. I like scungilli and calamari as well which also creeps out some people.

Do you like to eat any food that some people don't like to see on the table?

Yes, salad...some people look at it like yuck or bland but then again I mix in some tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, cheese and onions.

Out of the things I add into my salad what's your least favorite ingredient?

Tomatoes. I like red past sauce and I like tomato juice, but I don't like to eat raw tomatoes, neither whole nor sliced.

What is one fruit that you never eat?

Pineapple.

Would you rather eat pineapple or a banana?

Banana is less unpleasant to me.

Watermelon.

Watermelon because I like it a little and I don't like cantaloupe at all.

Two or three times a month.

2017 on the way from the O"Hare Airport to Chicago on the day before Thanksgiving.

When driving, how low has your gas tank ever gotten?

I got stuck right down the block from a gas station I was trying to get to one time lol. At least I was within walking distance to get some gas in a tank to fill up.

What's the most dangerous you've ever seen someone driving?

On Interstate 10 while I was driving from Phoenix to Tuscon, the speed limit was 70mph. I was going about 80mph, and a BMW passed me on my right as though I were standing still. He was clearly exceeding 120mph on an ordinary highway not built for that speed.

What is the fastest you have ever driven?

I think I hit 90MPH one time and I would not do that again.

Who's the slowest driver you ever drove with?

I had a friend who used to drive at 20mph on local streets in New Jersey where the speed limit was 35mph and all the other drivers were going 40mph. Being a passenger in his car was both boring and painful. Sad to relate, he died of Covid at the age of 68.
