Tomorrow is September 11th. On this date in 2001,the state of our country as well as the world changed drastically forever. Everyone was affected on that day in one way or another.I lost 343 fellow firefighters who were going up the stairs to help and rescue folks as people were passing them going down. Millions of people lost friends, loved ones, brothers, sisters, husbands, and wives. These were people who went to work having no idea that they would not return home.On saturday,if you do anything.....do this to start.First off.....a moment of silence for those lost, for those overseas putting thier lives in harms way,and for the freedoms that we take for granted.Secondly, express your feelings.Tell your significant other ,your kids, your parents how much you love them.Tell your friendswhat you think and how glad that they are a part of your life. To those of you that I see regularly,or chat to.....thanks for being a part of this guys life.

A horrific day that must always be remembered... I'm sure all of us remember exactly where we were and what we were doing on that day.

We must always honour the fallen and pray for peace... my sincere condolences to any and all who have been affected by this tragedy.

I am truly grateful for the police and firefighters in this country who currently put or have put their lives on the line every day to help protect us, and especially to those who lost their lives nine years ago this weekend. :usa:

I was just starting in the working world when 9/11 occurred, and my company nearly lost an outside sales rep who had gone to visit a client (he was in the first tower). A few of our other clients there did have casualties, but I never found the exact number before I left. There was a kind of unreality about the whole thing, as if we were all in a state of shock that didn't wear off until the morning of the 13th and we were able to come to terms with what had happened.

It's hard to believe it's been 9 years.

I was home that day, recovering from ankle surgery. I woke up that morning still in somewhat of a fog from an oxycodone pill taken the night before. I turned on the TV just before the second plane hit. That day, and several to follow seemed..surreal. It was strange, looking towards the sky and seeing no air traffic except for fighter jets and military helicopters. The horror of seeing people jump to certain death from hundreds of feet to escape the fiery death that awaited them is something I will never forget.

Tomorrow, also remember those who died at the Pentagon in Washington and those who fought the cowardly terrorists who took over United Airlines Flight 93 resulting in the crash near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. They knew they were going to die, and their actions saved many innocent lives.

We shall never forget... :usa:

Thoughts and wishes are with America, on this day of remembrance.

Thank you both. Great Britain has also felt the sting of terrorism over many years, and you have stood with us as a faithful Allie. Some of us remember that, and salute you.

They have started an event at facebook...Light a candle at midnight and have that moment to reflect upon that day and the lives lost....send a few good thoughts to those they left behind............

to anyone else who lost someone that day hugsssss to all we will never forget.

No one should go through that ---

For those who risked their lives to help -- and some still do --
American, British, and the victims of various backgrounds
whom these sick freaks still victimize, the world over --
The Taliban is still wreaking hell in Afghanistan...

This is basically how militant Islam works, if they can't find Christians and Jews to kill, they kill each other. I can't really see setting up democracies up over there, it probably is a waste of time, but who really knows. It's up to each administration to fend for themselves.

I wa living in California at the time. My parents were visiting and my mom was yelling something. I came out of the room and saw a building fire. As she explained what had happend we watched in horror as a second plane came into view. It was a day I will never forget. Everyone at my job just watched the footage of the days events. Many places closed down. My brother had been there just a week before for a meeting. Utter devestation and a terrible sense of loss. We will never forget that day, or for a short time after when America stood as one Nation! God bless our country and ou people! We will endure.

Terrorist Beware

:usa:I will never forget how numb I felt after see the second plane fly into the trade center, live. Folks all over got a wake up call with fanatics. I hope for some peace in the world. If you are intent on doing harm to innocent people you deserve, what ever comes your way.

My heart goes out to all those family members and friends who lost someone that terrible day.
