Signature Pics, and the People who Sport Them

Would you say, in your opinion... you being, you, yes, you... that this Site is replete with people who have a difficult time regarding "reality vs. fantasy" and escapism?

I can't help but notice, doing a few comparisons, that a lot of the artfully rendered signature pics resemble their owners about as closely as I resemble Angeline Jolie.

They couldn't be more off if the gender was wrong (see previous comment for an example).

Is this just for the heck of it? Is there actually some organized RP going on, and these are supposed to be character representations or something? I'm highly confused. Is this an honest effort to conceal your real appearances from the casual observer..?

Is this some mental self-image, or a slightly less escapist "I'd love to look like that instead of how I actually look" kind of thing?

I'm honestly, simply, curious. If there's an RP going on, I want to join in 😛 My real-life group has fallen apart and no longer meets, and I'm going through withdrawl. Yes, RP withdrawl!

well for now all i can show you is an attached file of my picture until i can figure a way to get the damn thing back on my siggy...when i joined i had Mimi make me this darling sig picture of a rather sweet, innocent yet naughty girl dressed in pink lingerie..with one finger in her mouth..and the other dipping into the icing of a birthday cake on my lap..hehe it was cute..

Mine's just a load of Cyrillic shite (WORKER AND PARASITE!) and some Warhammer symbol. Khorne, I think. Sometimes I fantasise about being Cyrillic or a weird red 8 with a piece missing. Then the doctor comes in to ask me if the leprechaun has been back since last time.

And for the record, Mimi makes most of the signature pics. They are based on pictures, but are always exaggerated, but not by us intentionally.

I think it is a pretty good likeness and Charon, your negative attitude towards this complimented to your ridiculous attitude in the chatroom yesterday isn't the best way to be welcomed to the forum.

As Mr. Bond stated, Mimi made a sig pic for me from my description of who I am and what I like. I'm tall, lanky, enjoy private time looking at large bodies of water, and own several parrots. She wasn't far off the mark. I have not hidden who or what I am. It wouldn't make sense to me after having met a great deal of people from this site in person.

Honestly I don't see what the big deal is. Whether our siggies look like us or not, they're just fun to have.

I don't know about any RP thing going on, but if you want a siggie, ask Mimi if she could create one for you. She's created many of the siggies you see around here.

I'm with you on this, maybe not to such an extent, but I agree. When signature caricatures started becoming "the thing" to do, it annoyed me so I started to put my real picture in my signature. Since then, though, many people have followed suit, posting their real pictures or having Mimi make something in their likeness. (Ex. Dave2112, Jonmath, KittenToes, etc..)

Also, I'm hesitant to diss people with signatures made by Mimi, because she is the bomb and I love her.

Yes I really am a 2-D cartoon living in a 3-D world. Everywhere I go I bring along large stacks of poker chips and I have giant playing cards pinned to my ass and spread out like a peacock.

Actually having done my own sig pic. It is quite close to what I look like. I even do meditiate at times as in the pic. Now granted I rarely have a universe collapsing behind me all the time which is usually a good thing cause I find collapsing universes do tend to mess up my room quite a bit. 😛
