Yea that was always my understanding. There usually is no play at a munch. It does help people to get to know one another though so you feel more comfortable playing should you meet them at a gathering. 🙂

The real problem is that there are no cheap bars or diners in decent neighborhoods so the food tends to be expensive. Not good to arrive hungry.
