They do that here, too, which is one reason that I discontinued their phone service and switched to Time Warner Cable for phone as well as internet. TWC never charges for a service call, even to a fool who didn't notice the cable was loose.

We have Time Warner here as well but the service here is quite horrid at least in my area. 🙁

Yes, sometimes the physical cable connection comes loose from the modem or from the cable box. If you don't check that first and call for service instead, they will not be there long to reconnect it.
