Three apparent choices: Get it repaired, buy a new printer, buy a used printer.
The first choice is a good one if you know a small computer store where you trust the honesty of the proprietors.

It will likely cost almost what its worth to fix plus another 40 dollars as I will likely have to get a ink cartridge as well by the time they are done 🙁

I dont like to buy used stuff.

If I buy a new one what brand do I get?

Well HP printers have poor print quality these days and with there recent announcement that they are getting out of the consumer arena I am reluctant to buy a HP. 🙁

The only other printer I have experience with is a Kyocera and they aren't cheap.

I never heard of Kyocera. 🙂 I need something that makes professional quality prints. The Epson i had did that. 🙂

I used to use HP all the time myself but they are not as good as they were. 🙁

There is a color Kyocera printer across the hall from my office. I can use it remotely when I need color printing. It works very well but I'm told that it was expensive to buy.

Its probably a professional grade printer. Mainly used for high quality art prints or very detailed pictures.

That's probably right. We've been told to only use it when necessary to have something in color, not just because the b/w HP printer is busy.

Yea.

I havent bought one of those printers cause they usually use like 8 separate colored ink cartridges and the ink is not cheap. If the printer clogs you can easily spend 200 + dollars in ink to replace it. 😱

I agree

Its something that needs to be used all the time. Something where you always have orders for prints and so are always making money. Otherwise its just does not price out well. 🙁
