Tickle Torture - and this time real!

Several folks in times past have given a litany of historical data going back to medieval times, even, where it was used negatively for result. Even the inquisition reputedly did such.

Any time someone in the species has an aversion to something, someone else will determine a way to use that to torment.

We're just wired to dig the activity. 🙂

I highly doubt the inquisition used tickling as a method of torture. They wouldn't have wasted their time with something like that! 🙂

Isn't it funny how something that so many of us just love can be torture to so many others? As a ler, I have to say that thank God not everybody (and especially not all women!) view being tickled as a tortorous experience (or at least not in a bad way! 😉 )

I wasn't the one that did that research for our community. Just repeatin' what was once disclosed. Some diligent researcher will again do the whole tickling-as-torture listing, going back into Russian practices and sexual fetishes of long ago, Inquisition tortures, etc.

You, however, are encouraged to argue it with them. I found it funny the first time I saw this argument, long before this forum existed, and will doubtless find it humorous again.

I'm with mb7700 in bein' grateful that there's enough folks that DON'T find this torturous.

Cardinal Fang...put her in the stocks!

DIABOLICAL LAUGHTER

Cardinal Biggles...tickle her feet!

Hmm... I wonder the truth of that article. If so... I wonder how many people are gonna run to Delhi and get caught committing a crime? =D

As far as I know, there are no actual historical documents proving tickling as torture. It was more a shame thing happening when people where publically displayed in stocks. But that's not really the topic here, so I will stop. 🙂

If they get caught there is no real need to get a confession, now is there? 🙂

...............................................................................................................REAL? Really? This has been proven to be fake. A good while ago too.

Cool. Where? Would like to see it! I would be relieved if this is actually fake!

I'll try, but sadly I think the person that made it deleted his post from here, since he was only doing so to tell that it wasn't true.

Weirdness. 🙂 But how did the person know it's not true without any sources to prove it? Usually it's not too hard to find evidence that something is a hoax.

If it's true then good on them 😛

Of course nobody can make me confess using this technique, just try it 😛

The person I mean is the person that originally wrote the article. He made an account here just long enough to tell that it was a joke, mentioning that he was surprised when he found out about the attention it got. I specifically remember this, but I suppose if I can't come up with anything then I can't prove it's a joke. But even then it's kinda hard to believe.

Glad to hear it's fake. I find this so disturbing. I'm aware that far worse human rights violations exist, but personally...you know what I mean, Rhiannon. Right?

Yeah i wouldn't of believed it was real.

And the the inquisition only ever used......THE COMFY CHAIR!

Yes, I know what you mean. 🙂

Good deal. The data's still out there, as it was found in libraries long before the net got public access availability.

There's not only history of this in Europe, pre-Inquisition, but in Russia, old Arabia, and China. It's not my particular interest, but I do recall such topics from USENET, and they've surfaces here throughout the decade.

It's the one big advantage of having moderated since the place started - you see a lot of the same stuff repeat in topics.

Even if it was real, I don't really get the point of torturing a confession out of someone. Wouldn't anyone confess to a crime if tortured enough?

If this is true, ten the cops in N.D. are pretty dumb. They are still assaulting prisoners and this would be a violation of their rights.

Depends on what kind of torture it was. If it was tickling, I could hold out all day.

Now, if it involved pain, I'd probably just start admitting to it before they even started even if I didn't do it. =D Me + pain = not happy me

I believe youmight be thinking of a post that involved gauntanimo bay a year or two back. A man posted it on his blog(a mock new article) and somebody here posted it. The person who ran the blog later made a post on the forum in response to it stating that it was a joke. I could be wrong though. I might be able to find it.

Edit: Here is the article in regards to what i was talking about, though i haven't had any luck finding the link here.

Guards Try Tickle Torture at Guantánamo Bay
Submitted by mike on Fri, 2006-09-15 10:45

Due to pressure from the international community and hippies the world over, Marines at Guantanamo Bay have had to get "creative" with their interrogation methods. The U.S. government has had to open the detention center to allow for compliance with the Geneva Convention. The Geneva Conventions states: "No physical or mental torture, nor any other form of coercion, may be inflicted on prisoners of war to secure from them information of any kind whatever. Prisoners of war who refuse to answer may not be threatened, insulted, or exposed to any unpleasant or disadvantageous treatment of any kind." Literally translated to mean: "If you have a prisoner of war, you may ask him a question, he may refuse to answer, and you can't do anything about it." The proof is in a newly leaked transcript of an interrogation session with a member of Al-Qaeda:

Marine: Do you know where Osama Bin Laden is?AQ: NoMarine: OK, I'll ask again tomorrow. May I get you a pillow? Maybe a virgin or two? Many Marines were frustrated with this type of questioning and have had to resort to more "creative" methods. Col. Jake Baker had this to offer: "Since we aren't allow to do anything that may be considered unpleasant, we decided to go the opposite direction: Over-pleasure. What most Americans know as Tickle-Torture." The Marines now go into a cell, hold the POW down, and tickle him to tears. "It was an odd experience at first, but hey, we aren't allowed to do anything else" said Col. Baker "We always knew the international position on Guantanamo Bay was laughable, but this is ridiculous."

Ridiculous? Yes, but effective. Since the start of the new initiatives, there have been 140,234 arrests made world-wide, largely due to the information gathered at "The Bay." Since Operation Tickle-Me-Arab was such a success, the U.S. military has plans to expand its position on over-pleasuring their prisoners. "Not everyone is ticklish," said PFC Mary Headron "so we're going to attempt other methods such as: The Zurbert, The Raspberry or the dreaded Armpit Fart." When asked why these methods were so effective, Col. Baker offered: "Religious zealots the world over may hate each other, themselves and anyone not like them, but what is the one thing they hate most of all? Laughter." Here's to fighting the war on terror with a feather and a smile.
