Tickling in Art

I am so psyched about these!
So many examples of female dominance, situation that could be tickle fights, and feathers! They are by the Danish Art Nouveau artist Gerda Wegener.

Here is the only weird thing, I am pretty sure my grandparents had a children's book from the old country illustrated by her at their house?!?!?!?

We really should open a gallery. Or at least throw a dinner party and pepper the walls with our fetish-finds for 'conversation' . . . . tickling afficionados only, of course!

Yes, yes, YES! Come back even if it only to tell Queen and myself that we are nuts and just seeing things and there is no tickling going on in these paintings, drawings, or sculpture!!

Sorry Im forgetting my manners thanks to all who have contibuted
I found this . Its a piece called 'The Bed ' by German artist Sandro Porcu and at the time the photo was taken (January 2007) was on display at the Alexia Goethe gallery in London. Not exactly classical but then who can really define art anyway.

The movie version was done by Ken Russell one of my favorite directors (TOMMY, GOTHIC). When Salome tries to tease the king into removing her boots would've been a great moment for him to caress/tickle her soles. Alas, I don't think Ken Russell shares our obessions--though he has a few of his own!
I'm glad though, that the actress playing Salome remained barefoot for the rest of the film.
