Whatchu playing?

Just bought the Ratchet and Clank collection for my Vita. Going to go through my childhood for a while.

Just got Overwatch (accidentally bought the Origins addition instead of the cheaper base version, but whatever) and have been playing mostly Lucio and Reinhardt, with a bit of McCree whenever we don't have enough damage dealers.

Currently been playing Final Fantasy X-2 hd remastered version for PS4. Just recently beat X so had to move on to X-2..

I was a bit skeptic of all the Overwatch hype, so I thought 'if you can't beat them, join them'. Picked it up to see what all the fuss was about - now I'm addicted to it. I don't usually like online games OR FPS games, but somehow, this one just has me. I love the emphasis on teamwork rather than kill-death ratios. I play a lot of Mercy, and I love how I can go a whole match without killing anyone, but still feel like I made a big difference (although I did triumphantly drop a Roadhog with Mercy's peashooter the other day, 1 on 1 close quarters - proud moment).

I play mostly Tracer, Reinhardt, and Mercy, depending on the team and the objective. I'm also comfortable using Roadhog, D.VA (although that buff can't come quick enough), McCree, Pharah, Winston, and Zenyatta. For some reason, I just can't seem to get to grips with anyone in the 'defense' class.

If only everyone else could figure out that teamwork was what the game was about. Getting steamrolled because your team kept splitting up as soon as they spawned isn't fun.

I've been trying to switch up who I play, but I still mostly end up playing McCree, Reinhardt, Hanzo, and very rarely Junkrat. I'm horrible with Lucio (I seemed to get worse the longer I played) and Mercy, so I only go healer if we absolutely need one.

Yeah, people splitting is a nuisance. If I can't see my teammates, I can't heal and buff them. So, when my team is constantly split up, it's pointless playing Mercy - in those situations, I switch to Tracer, and bamf behind enemy lines, stirring up trouble and making them chase me. If I can keep most of them chasing me for twenty seconds, even if I get killed in the process, it distracts them long enough to let my team all get to the objective together, which might result in some teamwork. x) The phrase "herding cats" comes to mind.

Also, some matches just don't go your way. I had a great match yesterday, held fast, helped the team, won the match, great stuff. Very next match, I managed to kill myself three times in the first two minutes. Dead embarrassing.

I'll never forget the fact that the very first thing I ever did in a match of Overwatch was accidentally Reinhardt Rush off a cliff as soon as the doors opened.

Urrgh, that's a good start. xD Mine were similarly bad. In the space of about three minutes on the Ilios stage, I:

1) Followed D.Va acrossa gap as Mercy, but didn't have the airborne-ability to clear it,

2) Tracer-blinked over the cliff into oblivion, and

3) Managed to blow myself up with my own explosive (apparently you can do that).

Also, so I'm not going off-topic too much, also been playing Mirror's Edge: Catalyst this week. As a die-hardfan of the first ME, I was excited for this. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm enjoying it. The platforming is as tight and smoothe and addictive as ever. The combat controls are not deep, but are improved from the first game. The graphics are stellar, and the open world is great. However, the story is very 'meh', sometimes the open world tends to be a little featureless and less exciting to navigate than ME1's skyscrapers and set-pieces, and, sadly, the side missions are - in my opinion - atrocious. They are all time trials with little to no variation whatsoever, and the time limits are so strict that even registering a finish in one side mission can take a dozen or more attempts.

Still a great game, though. A nice, original game, pretty one-of-a-kind as games go, and worth checking out, especially if you liked the first one. Buy it if you enjoy high-speed platforming and a unique gem of a game, avoid it if you want a deep story or are expecting a traditional FPS (you can not use guns in this).

I'm considering getting Overwatch. According to the internet I SHOULD be able to run it rather well on my laptop but can anyone give me a heads up on how it performs?

As far as I'm aware it runs pretty well, but I have a decent desktop. Only problem I've had is weird lag pulling me in random directions.

Just bought AC4 on the Steam Sale. I'd heard good things about it, so I decided to try it while i could afford it.

Runs fine on my two year old laptop that was midrange when new. Blizzard games tend to be able to run great on a wide hardware range, so you shouldn't have problems.

Speaking of which, I bought Stardew Valley during the steam sale. It's great for calming down whenever rage quit Overwatch (if I have to tell 1 more person that getting on the point stops the cap/refills the overtime meter).

Played Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

EXTREMELY Pissed off at the RNG within RNG within RNG.

The game is basically unplayable. They might as well have called it "Dragon Ball Lottery."

I'm looking forward to some remastered games like the bioshock collection and skyrim, for the new southpark rpg and no man sky, but for now just grinding on destiny and alternating with fallout 4 till the dlcs drop in a few months.

Meh, I'll wait until sun and moon. Never been big into either ARGs or, for lack of a better erm, "watered down" games based on games.

Yeah, Xenoverse was a huge disappointment for me until I found out I could mod the game and create my own content. After that, I could finally create a female Saiyan with the hair of Jeice (only bright red in color) as well as a whole bunch of other stuff. 😀

One day I hope they come out with a turn-based 3DS Dragon Ball game similar to Attack of the Saiyans but it would allow you to create your own party of 3 custom Dragon Ball Characters (complete with race, gender, appearance, and class).

Yeah I tried to get a refund from steam, but the horse-fuckers wouldn't give me my money back. (I wanted it returned to my steam wallet, not my credit card, so valve would've kept the money anyways. Greedy fucks.)

I was GONNA buy The Witcher 3, but.. since they apparently don't care about customer service, I just went and got it from GOG.

I'm gonna be getting 85% of my games from GOG or ThePirateBay from here on. Steam is just a community app to me now.

Recently finished Zero Time Dilemma. It was a pretty good end to the series, although it felt like some of the story was a little bit forced out. I didn't really have a problem with the Fragment system like a lot of people seemed to, since it was fairly easy to figure out where a fragment is. I'd say Virtue's Last Reward is still the best of the three.

Gonna be picking up Just Cause 3 in the next couple days, because the Humble Store has it on sale for $30 (or $42 for the game and expansion packs bundled together)
