As a rule guys/girls will treat you however you allow them to treat you. Love is messy and it always takes two. Choose a better guy next time, judging by the posts here there are many men that are passionate about treating a woman right. I think the question you posed "why are guys so mean" is a pointless question which will get you nowhere. The better question is "with so many nice guys around, why do I pick and devote my time and love to the mean ones?"

Take some personal accountability for how you're treated. You're not a victim. If the mean guys cause you strife, give the nice ones a shot.

And you know what? Those Dating Gurus are right! I see it again and again and again each and every day!

There is only one exception: If we had a kid from our favorite asshole and he chose to run off with another chick, then we gladly welcome Mr. Nice Guy who has been our best friend all along to take care of us!
