WWE's Eddie Guerrero found dead

Its all speculation...heart failure seems to be the report, but what caused that? Who knows, his past addictions? Thats speculation but obviously a guy his age in his shape you would probably think on your own that it might be that. It's sad if thats the case cause he's turned his life around and it looked like he was past all of that. I guess sometimes you just never know.

For all you Eddie fans, I found this on a different site, but it is definitely worth looking at. I know I was completely stunned when I found out that Eddie Guerrero passed away. I couldn't believe it when I first heard it. I met him once when the WWE came to Jersey, and all I can say is that he was a genuinely nice guy. That's what makes this even harder. And yes, according to Chavo, he just passed his 4th year of sobriety. I saw the press conference he and Vince did, and Chavo looked completely crushed, understandably.

My prayers go out to Eddie's family and friends in this time. I hope that they carry on as best they can.

I know they say tough guys don't cry, but that video changed everything.
Have fun in Heaven Eddie, hope you amaze them as much as you amazed us.

i read that he and chavo had ate dinner the night before and eddie told him he was celebrating 4 years of sobriety. he just moved to arizona to be with his family too. i also read that benoit, dean malenko, rey mysterio, and chavo all went to his room to pay their last respects. a lot of the wwe staff were visibly shaken. i dont watch wrestling like i used to but i was definently shocked when i read about his death. i read about all this on wrestlezone.com...both raw and smackdown will be tribute shows and both are voluntary for the wrestlers to work. R.I.P. Eddie...Latino Heat

...

I can't even really express how I feel right now. Eddie Guerrero was one of my very favorite wrestlers. Ever. I almost cried when he defeated Brock Lesnar for the WWE title for the very first time. I laughed out loud during all his lie, cheat, and steal antics. I can't believe this is the last time I'll ever see him. I am truly heartbroken. Rest in peace, Eddie. I loved you, man. You will truly be missed.

I think I'm right in saying that Eddie died as a legend and at the peak of his career. He's won the WWE title and was actually speculated to win the World title from Batista too. I remember first seeing Eddie on WCW 6 years ago as silent and moody, but had the most amazing aerial finisher in the frog splash. When he defected to WWF, I wasn't as much into his Latino Heat gimmick at first (but I did see more of Guerrero's superb all-round in-ring ability), but after getting over his addictions, and adopting that Lie Cheat Steal gimmick, I found him hilarious. He may have been a heel, but everyone loved the fact that he was such a naughty boy, no matter what he did, he was still getting cheers. That feud with Rey Mysterio proved that. As soon as the feud ended, he was almost immediately made a face again, getting up to his naughty little tricks again, as well as making some excellent promos.

Here's what I see happening in the wake of Guerrero's death: Chavo will ditch the Kerwin White character forever (thank God), Benoit will win the World Title and captain Smackdown's Survivor Series team to victory (Batista is injured at the mo) in dedication to Eddie (what with their history and stunning matches together), and The Coach will no doubt put down Eddie's legacy at some point in time. He's capable of that, looking at how much he did so to Jim Ross after his "firing" just to get cheap heat. I hate that guy. He can't commentate for shit.

Eddie once said "If I died in a wrestling ring, I'd die a happy man". I suppose in heaven, he'll be more than happy too.

Yeah, this was truly terrible news. Eddie was one of the few people I enjoyed watching on smackdown. This guy is a talented wrestler. The wwe never lets the skill portionof the wrestler shine through becaue they hide it behind some goofy gimmeck because little kids watch the show and you have to make it friendly for the young teenagers.

R.I.P. Eddie "Latino Heat" Gory Guerrero. The world of wrestling won't be the same without you. 🙁 :sadcry: :droptear:

Yanno, I thought it was a joke until I went and searched the net pages. This is sad, indeed. I agree that angle with Rey made me lose a little respect for the man, but thru it all, I thought he was one hell of a talent. A shame and a pity someone dying so young, with so much yet to accomplish. RIP Eddie, heaven has gained another star

I do agree this should get Chavo back to being Chavo, and never going back to that stupid Kerwin White character

Though I never got to meet him, I saw Eddie at a Smackdown show here in Hartford over the summer. He came out during the opening of the show fully dressed, complaining to Teddy Long that he wasn't able to compete that night. One of his classic "lie, cheat, steal" moments.
I'm really gonna miss him and those routines of his.

I was hoping that it was too. I still wish it were. But, even the WWE can't pull anything that poor in taste. I've got my tissues ready for the show. :dropatear

-The word today from the local coroner’s office is that preliminary results from the Eddie Guerrero autopsy were inconclusive and no details will be released yet. A more detailed, full autopsy will be done and results for that would be available in roughly two or three weeks.

Just finished watching the RAW tribute. Seeing guys like Big Show, the Game, and Benoit crying . . . I couldn't stop myself. Some of the best matches I've ever seen happened here tonite. All gave their hearts to Eddie Guerrero, VIVA LA RAZA! God, put Eddie on the main event card, so he can show you what he has shown us>

I cried during the show. It was a fine show...

Rest in Peace, Eddie. I take comfort in knowing that you are in a better place.

I went through a whole roll of toilet paper during tonights show. I bawled from the opening of the show, where they were all standing around the ramp, to the closing fading video, of Cena's shirt with the World Title resting upon it in the ring.

I knew I would lose it. How could one not? Eddie was a class act, a great talent, and quite obviously an inspiration to all. Life is so unfair sometimes. No one can tell me it was simply "his time" to go. Not at the height of his career, at a mere 38 years of age....not with so much love and life left in him.

To all those uber macho fellas who were going off about how real men don't cry or show emotions in that other thread some time back....I saw many many men tonight....big, strong, manly men - not weak, feminine, sensitive men....wearing their hearts on their sleeves and letting their pain, sorrow, and loss stream down their cheeks without shame. God bless them for letting the world know they too are human, and for reminding everyone that Eddie was not just an entertaining face in the ring, but a real man with real issues and a real family and friends, and a real big part of many many lives.

You will be missed more than you could ever have imagined, Eddie. Thank you for giving everything you had to us, for so long. You'll never be forgotten.

*he cries with loss*

The whole day at work i knew tonight was coming....even after reading the spoilors on sunday night, i still had to watch.....it seemed like the whole day dragged and it wasnt any better when every radio station i put on, there was a sad song playing.....all this for a man i have never met, but Eddie had that effect on everyone who saw him perform. I'll admit, I cried everytime they mentioned him. From the beginning with all the wrestlers on the stage, to the interview with Chirs Benoit, to the end with John Cena placing the belt in the middle of the ring. The only bad part is, if it could be considered bad, there is still another show on Friday night we have to go through.......

I always think when something like this happens what does Eddie really think of all this? He probably feels worse than anyone for the affect he's having on people feeling upset etc...I bet he wishes everyone would be happy. But of course its natural to grieve.
I found it really really interesting tonight to see on Raw some wrestlers who totally were visibly upset (Big Show, Benoit, Batista interview) and those who really amazingly stood in character and seemed ok (MNM, Randy, Cena)

Its awful that it took something tragic to bring the best out a few WWE Superstars. They realized that no one is immortal and that they should give it their all just like Eddie did. Simply a great RAW very dignified and great tributes.
I just wish 1 person would have done a Frog Splash.
Greatest match of the night was by far Rey Mysterio and HBK.
All those that cried and even those that didn't showed true emotion and all felt like they lost a brother...they did, and in some way we all did.
I lost my memories of watching him, and now those pay-per views that my freinds and I sat around watching Eddie will be more special than I thought.
Ill be playing my Wrestlemania 21 on X-Box tonight, playing as Eddie..my own little tribute.

Rob

I'll admit I cried. I felt silly for crying because I don't know him and I've never met him, but Eddie had that effect on everybodies life. He was such a great guy and such an incredible talent.

The Raw show was one of the best I've ever seen. The matches were brilliant and the interviews were saddening yet inspirational. Eddie truly was a man who deserves legendary status.

An incredible tribute show. I was on the verge of tears through-out the show, but was most choked up at the beginning with all the superstars together. True emotion poured out all night.
Vince's opening statement was fantastic(how he kept it together was amazing). Especially when he shouted out "VIVA LA RAZA!"
And actually, all the matches were really quite good considering the emotional state everyone was in.

I found myself in tears several times. I loved Big Show's face when he came out laughing after the clip of Eddie spraying him with sewage. I would imagine he needed the laugh. I also loved the match with Rey and HBK. I knew he'd be giving Rey the win. I think he needed it more. It was great to see them embrace after they were done and just let one another cry. The one who touched me the most was Chris Benoit. I could feel the pain in all of them. But, Chris just tore my heart out.

A fitting tribute. It will be interesting to see the rest on Friday night.

I Cried!

I don't know why, I didn't when I watched the Owen tribute, but when I watched RAW this past Monday, I cried on and off through out the entire show. Maybe it was because all the Superstars seemed to be speaking from the heart (except for HHH and his forced tears) where as with Owen it seemed like alot of people were playing it up. I guess if a 7' tall 500 lbs guy can cry it's ok for anbody too.

God is putting together one hell of a card up there.

Was that a Johnny Cash song they played during Eddie's tribute montage? Does anyone know the name of the song? :twohugs:
