I'm impressed! (No, not one myself)
Don't have the discipline yet myself, but I won't touch veal or lobster at the very least... If I know "food" is tortured to death (that's especially unacceptable...)
I try to "use" cage-free hens/eggs, also --- No reason in this millenium for "food animals" to be tortured for mass production.... If I'm kept sitting, standing or *squished in one position for 30 minutes I'm very uncomfortable,
can't imagine not being able to move for weeks... or months....
and forget dropping anything living into boiling water.

I wonder who first tried that... Normally more peaceful, I had to work not to backhand a classmate in middle school who gleefully commented he'd put a lobster in backwards to hear it scream...
😡
I've recently been told that's *not just "steam," though must look for more data (already gathered...).
I have a good friend who's a vegan, won't even use leather, puts me to shame for sure! Simply because she loves animals, especially cows...
And she'll never comment upon what anyone else eats either, or wears.
Took quite a while to discover this about her, in fact...
I'd never impose these thoughts upon anyone else either... I know a vegetarian must be very careful with sources of protein, etc., and experimenting with myself is entirely different than (with family or friends) since I have no idea regarding long-term effects, but I'm sure there are enough "older" vegetarians to ask
But don't ask me to buy tortured puppies in certain Asian countries (no offense, that's what I found) except to rescue... They actually do that to "soften the meat," I wish I was kidding....

That began in wartime/famine, and continued, unfortunately....
There were petitions circulating, haven't seen one in a while, maybe that means by some slim chance that mega-barbaric practice was stopped...?
Britain is known for (better/best?) treatment of "food animals." At least if they're treated well, and it's quick.... (THAT much *should be a Given).
🙁
Especially when they're actually intelligent, and sensitive -- sentient. (Like dogs, ugh, not going there again).
Don't ASK what I saw Wolfgang Puck do to a live crab on TV.... though I'll probably post it eventually...
Always admired Ed Begley Jr. --- Years ago, saw him interviewed.
He was *THEN driving a completely electric car (for years) and he won't eat "anything with a face."
(That's it, I really have to kick the junk food... as I'm thinking of it yet again... Damn colorful packaging...)
At least, if higher life forms ever descend upon us looking for sources of protein, you vegetarians should be allowed amnesty (or the first escape pods...)
