Christ,I'd like to see Bret back in any capacity.I think if Vince would apologize to him,he'd probably be willing to do it.

I've always loathed the character of Shawn Michaels and recognised that Michael Hickenbottom's portrayal of it was superb. He is one of the all time greats, much better than Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Snuka in my opinion.

But I don't like the man either. With the attitude revolution in the then WWF, the guys characters became blown up versions of their real life personalities. Shawn's character changed not one iota. I think he's possibly the most irritating personality the business has ever seen.

If they brought out a video of him smacking Vince fuckface McMahon in the mouth I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
 
I agree. Probably the reason those ten guys beat the shit out of him in that nightclub parking lot several years back.

Bret and Shawn put each other over a lot of times over the years, but as an actual fighter, Bret was harder than steel. Shawn was just an acrobat and a bump artist. Nothing more.
 
I always point out to my friends that back in the 80's, watching the Rockers, who would have ever guessed that Michaels would have been world champ someday?

Bret Hart on the other hand? I knew back then he'd be better as a singles wrestler. When he won the title from Flair in Saskatoon, it seemed so natural and logical. It made sense, I guess.

According to Mick Foley, after the team broke up, he got too caught up in the wild nightlife. That's why he never really made a comeback in the WWF.
I saw he was in a legends-style tour a few years back, i think it was called WWA. Aside from that, anybody else got anythign on him?

And then he'd march around inside the ring saying that like he owned the place! LOL ^__^
 
The mountie was funny, but I always found the Quebecers funnier, especially when they turned heel and were managed by Jimmy Hart. Every time they were interviewed, they would wave tiny little american flags and have these obnoxious smiles.

That's why I hated Hogan with a passion....not because of his wrestling ability (which I think leaves a lot to be desired), but off-camera, he was such a spoiled primadonna.

And have you ever heard (in interview, or book) Hogan's version of the history of wrestling? A&E had a show on Hogan last week, and I damn near laughed myself off the couch at the ludicrous statements made by Hogan, Okerlund, Beefcake, and the narrator.

The Mountie (a.k.a. Jaques Rougeaux) retired I think.
 
Awww...I miss the Mountie, and IRS. Whatever happened to him? Did he just retire too?

And what about 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper? He came back a year or so ago for a short-lived gimmick and a revival of "Piper's Pit". But he was way out of shape from what it looked like.

Does anyone think theres a possibility we'll ever see him again, in any capacity? Vince wouldn't bring this character back, in the person of Roddy Piper, if he didn't think it was a good idea. Unless it was that he needed a heel to compliment Hogan's faceness and that was the only reason.

I liked Piper more than IRS and Mountie.
 
Dunno what happened to Mike Whassisname. (IRS)

I thin Vince brought Piper back, because Hogan was back as a face again. Piper was the original arch-enemy of The Hulkster during his days as the company's number one face yassee. Then that spot moved to Ted DiBiase, seconded by Andre the Giant; before going again to Sgt. Slaughter.

IRS, aka Mike Rotunda owns a business in Florida (Tampa, I think). It's a restaurant, if I remember correctly. The Bushwhackers also have a restaurant (steakhouse) in Florida.
 
Piper in the WWE again? While I'm hesitant to never say never, I doubt it's going to happen. He's like Shane Douglas -- just burned too many bridges. In fact, he got fired last time for ripping on Vince in a HBO interview, and Vince has a long memory for things like that.

Mike Rotundo, aka IRS, has been working in Japan, but retired last month. Marty Jannetty is still pottering around the indys. And yeah, Jacques Rougeau is retired -- I think he's running a wrestling school in Canada.

In WCW, WWA, TNA, and the various jobs and interviews he's done since, his once hilarious mike work is downright bizarre. He goes off on rants that either make no sense or have nothing to do with the show at hand. Oftentimes, it seems like he just doesn't think before he opens his mouth.

Piper's always been like that, hasn't he?
 
Yeah, to my knowledge he's always been like that.

I think I like him for those reasons. That and the fact he's unpredictable. Remember when he hauled off and broke a coconut over Super Fly's head knocking down that make-shift Piper's Pit stage (It was Super Fly right?) That was funny. And then for him to do the exact same thing many years later to Rikishi was even funnier.

It was funny how he'd come to the ring with O'Haire with a bottle of vodka or whiskey and just chug it. Thats cool, even more impactful then when Austin drinks. So what if Austin can drink one weak beer after another? Piper was downing an entire damn bottle of vodka and he could still stand upright and make optimum use of his functions! Anyone else would have passed out, vomited, or gotten so hammered they didn't know what the hell was going on!

Sure, he's been unpredictable all his life, but even wrestling sites and people who've interviewed him say he goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the conversation or situation at hand.
I'm remember hearing of a show about a year back where, in the middle of some in-ring mike work building up a match later on, he suddenly went on a rant about how Vince McMahon killed Owen Hart. People there were scratching there heads and wondering what the hell he was talking about.
I miss the Piper of old. The guy could get people riled up like nobody's business. Personally, I loved it...the Hogan thing was getting old fast, and the coconut incident was one of the most jaw-dropping moments in wrestling.
