David Carradine Found Dead in Bangkok

BANGKOK – Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu" who also had a wide-ranging career in the movies, has been found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok.

A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy, Michael Turner, confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor. He says Carradine died either late Wednesday or early Thursday, but he could not provide further details out of consideration for his family.

The Web site of the newspaper The Nation cited unidentified police sources as saying Carradine was found Thursday hanged in his luxury hotel room and is believed to have committed suicide.

Carradine was a leading member of a venerable Hollywood acting family that included his father, character actor John Carradine, and brother Keith.

I can totaly believe suicide. I saw him on a show not too long ago talking about Kung FU and he was not a happy camper. I feel he had some grave mental issues.

unbelieveable. dad and i sued to watch kung-fu together when i was a kid. for his birthday one year, i even bought him the first couple seasons on dvd because he loved the show so much, and he's a practicing kung fu san soo-ist. man this is really, really sad. rest in peace, david. you will be missed!!

Crazy shit y'all. I grew up watching him like many of you. Actually though, I smell a rat. From what I've seen, police find no evidence of any trauma to the body except for the noose he hung himself on. He's had to have appeared in at least 100 movies and I beleive was in the Orient filming another one. This doesn't match a suicidal profile. I've never had a patient this age commit suicide. There's gotta be a piece missing somewhere. What a damn shame.

Never watched "Kung Fu" as a kid, but really enjoyed David in "Kill Bill". Since those movies, the last two things I saw him in was a telephone book commercial and a really low-grade, straight to dvd crime movie that came out last year. He deserved a lot better.......like the sucess Mickey Roarke is currently enjoying.

It's too bad, and makes little sense. Dave was working on a movie, and was probably more popular and in demand then he has been in 20 year (namely cause of the Kill Bill films). He did the 2nd Kung-Fu series in Toronto, so he brought some work here, and thats always good 😀.
