Just two drugs I wouldn't be able to function without: My e-cig (pure liquid nicotine) and caffeine.
At 38 I've never tried drugs or cigarettes. I tried alcohol when I was a teenager (I was in Italy for spring break and there was no drinking age there) and I'm not proud of it. It was because I buckled to peer pressure and it came from a teacher if you can believe it. I was in Italy for a school trip over spring break that our religion teacher put together, I was at a restaurant in Rome with the teacher and some of the other kids who went on the trip and he was like "try something for once in your life". Yes I said he was the religion teacher. He also told us he sometimes smoked pot between classes so yeah, looking back now, he was a total degenerate. I never should have listened to him, just because I'd love to be able to say that I've never tried any of those things, but most of them I've never tried and I am very proud of that.
At 38 I really believe that most high school kids have lived more, experienced more than me. And I'm proud of that because it means I'm innocent. Something not a lot of people can say these days.
This post is the absolute height of comedy.

Whew!
I thought I was the only one! Let me guess......a very tight relationship with mom?
I'm a bit confused, since I'm quoted but this reads kind of out of context if it's directed at me...
However, the man who is 38 has every right to be proud of not becoming dependent on a drug/substance. It's interesting that you're all making fun of him for it. I would argue that it's better to be clean than a tweaker.
I'll admit, the holier-than-thou attitude was unnecessary, but if you've got something to be proud of, than you might as well be proud of it.
I don't know that avoiding alcohol and drugs should be something that you should really be proud of after you hit 21, to be honest.
Sure; if you managed to avoid them as a kid, congratulations, you are a model of restraint. The same thing goes for adults... but it just means less. The pressure on kids to use drugs is far more extreme, and the avoidance of them at that age means a lot more.

Well being that I'm Catholic, an Jesus turned water into wine, an not fruit juice, as as Peter Griffin put "Wow is that really the blood of Christ? Man he must have been wasted 24 hours a day!"
Caffeine and nicotine, those are my daily poisons.
Weed can be purchased in special shops here, for a decent price. High quality weed, containing up to 6 times as much THC as the average US weed. As far as other drugs go we're basically swimming in XTC pills; large batches that arrive on the streets illegaly are tested by some part of the governement and they issue statements about the contents of these pills and they issue warnings if they're contaminated. You can get your drugs tested for a small fee after which you'll receive a complete report on the contents and any contaminants found in them.
But even though we have such wonderful drug policies there are significantly less people smoking weed here than in for instance the states. Prohibition surely does not work.
I try to stick to hashish nowadays... once you start smoking that weed really isn't the same anymore.
