For NEST attendees; your favorite experience, or story...

I hope to hear more and more about NEST "11

and the stories of what happened over the weekend. The sub stories are hilarious and make this group of tickling enthusiasts even a tighter knit " family", whether or not you have attended this year or not.

As a newbie, I can tell you there were no cliques! Just a bunch of friends getting together and having a great time. I always felt included and welcomed! I felt amongst family!

I'm pretty happy with my bruises (some from tickling, some
not), and some other mildly damaged areas. 😉 NEST was great.
But no words we say can appropriately describe it, you really just
need to take the plunge and join us next year. May 4-7, 2012~ 😀

Soda Bobinski and I were sitting in the comfy chairs, and I think he was getting tired so he turned to me and asked me to slap him across the face. I asked him several times how hard he wanted me to do it, and even asked him to demonstrate on my hand, but he just kept saying, "I don't care - surprise me." So I slapped him moderately hard and he turned to me with big eyes and said, "I said slap me not decapitate me!" LOL I love my Bald Rob :bubbleheart:

Yeah, NEST is a pretty exclusive event. I mean, it's not like just ANYONE can sign up and come. Every so often some sneaky little non-clique bastards do manage to weasel their way in there. Luckily The Clique has plenty of defenses in place to make sure they stay in their secluded little corner and have NO FUN AT ALL. Just ask any of the NEST newbies and I'm sure they'll tell you how snobby, standoffish and rude all the vets were.

*GR Violation*

Any members of a group who go to an event/gathering, then send back-and-forth forum posts full of inside jokes and quips -- which only they and others who went to this event would understand -- are exhibiting clique-like, "you just had to be there" behavior. Whether or not you welcome new attendees at the event/gathering with open arms is irrelevant to forum behavior. However, as I said in my previous post, it was handled with class and grace on the forum this year, so all is well.

Do you even own a dictionary? A clique is defined as being narrow and exclusive. The fact that NEST attendees are willing to share stories and jokes with people who show interest is, in and of itself, contradictory to your logic.

Welcoming new attendees is completely relevent. The people who are upset about not being involved only have themselves to blame. No one is keeping them from being involved, nor is anyone throwing it in their face that they chose not to be there. So many NEST threads start or end with encouraging people who haven't made it out yet to attend.

Well then I can see why you felt the need to come into the one single thread celebrating NEST outside of the NEST subforum, created by a non-NEST attendee, and shit all over it. Too much grace and class does tend to make things kinda boring and doesn't give you anything to bitch about.

Thou protests a bit much.

Again, for the record, I was complimentary and tried to play nice.

Yes you were complimentary, but it's a back-handed compliment (i.e. thanks so much for not flooding the forum with cliquey back and forth omg i miss you, remember when this happened, messages like you guys did last year). As you say we did play nice this year. All NEST posts (actually started by NEST attendees) were self-contained within the NEST subforum, however, you made the choice to come into the one thread (started by a curious non-attendee) to talk about how horrendous we acted compared to this year. So, yeah it's nice, but not really.

All that being said, Lyz you know I agree with you, but this is all pointless. This problem will ALWAYS exist to some extent every year who not like to read about other people's good time.

OmahaTickler, complaining about the largest group of people to bother to get together socially after meeting on this forum is not going to be well-received.

OTOH, calling you names, regardless of your behavior, is unacceptable.

However, as one of those people who actually STARTED such processes, convincing groups of total strangers to gather and see what friendships could be made, I'm offended by your behavior. I do, however, understand not wanting to see a bunch of people who enjoyed something "lord it over you" in what may feel exclusive.

The solution is to NOT read the threads marked NEST. Same's true for those people here who like a kind of tickling you don't like (/m or /f, bondage or none, SM or none, etc.). We're a community, and like other communities our members have differences DESPITE an overlying similarity.

I'll remind all here that one can make clear one's frustrations with an individual without referring to them, in colloquial fashion, as a female dog, a woman's hygiene product that messes with pH, etc.

I'm not above giving misbehavior a holiday. Argue civilly or get used to not posting.

For the record, I haven't attended NEST in two years, and for what it's worth, I most miss the great social interaction with all of the friends I've made. You people rock.

If you feel left out of this group of less than 150 people, when there are tens of thousands here on this forum, you need perspective. I've now provided that. This is a TINY group cheering their success against monumental odds. Doubt that? Host one yourself.

So...as per the OP...

My favorite moment of NEST 2011 was teaching my class, Tickling Techniques, for the first time!!! It was SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Come on out and play with us next year, everyone!!! Let's fill that hotel!!!

and DVNC...much respect.

1. DVNC you are the shit. But you of course already know that.
2. My favorite NEST moment was watching Slacker fling Crystal Light to the ground and start wailing on her during the orientation skits.

One of my favorite moments was when Skippy, Kraziedog, and I coordinated together to make a video of me "boo haunting" Slacker. I made a hoodie that looked like one of the boo ghosts from Mario and came at him, but every time he turned around I stopped and put my hands over my eyes. We all had a good time with it. 😀

That was freakin' awesome!

First evening at Nifty Fifty! That was a awesome night! Good food, good friends, good atmosphere! 😀 Miss it so much!!

I have to say that Nifty Fifty was my favorite experience! Hanging out in the parking lot, drinking awesome milkshakes and being with great people! I will never forget it! That thought got me through the week!

This is kinda serious and not full of lulz.

But I would definitely have to say when the group of us were hanging out by the bar just shootin' the shit and one of the bartenders turned on the News and we caught the Headline that Osama had been killed. -- It was and will always be something that will stick with me. It was the collective silence and union of people from all over the World in one room sharing in a moment that will be forever marked down in History. -- I really don't think there can be anything in my mind that tops that.

And a wonderful class it was, too!! I learned a few things I plan to incorporate into my stories. And, of course, had a lot of fun!! You're quite possibly the best teacher I ever had (not that that's a high bar to get over).

We are eternally indebted for your monumental effort of hosting a party so very long ago.
How can we possibly forget when you keep remindin' us?

Please, enuff of the self-agrandinizin'.

It's like everyone who ever brought a fuckin' bag of chips has to rush to the spotlight and and proclaim immortality.

Just can't stop it. Yer gonna have t'live with it. 🙂

First and foremost, seeing everyone I knew and getting to know new friends was by far the best part of NEST. I had an awesome time and miss you all!!!

Best story would have to be Saturday night. Everyone was in the lounge area by the bar and sitting ( little playing with pokes & foot massages here and there) on the leather couches.

It was happy hour and I saw 2 girls sitting by themselves drinking not with our group. Ticklishious and I went up to them and started talking to them. We felt they would be easy to tell why we are here instead of NEST standing for 'North Eastern Stock Training' convention lol......

They met us by the bar later that night, told them it was a tickling convention and brought them up to one of our rooms and a volunteer got tied up and the girls tickled him for a bit. Of coarse they didn't want to try it but that was expected.

They seemed to dig it from a vanilla perspective. Brought them to our private party and had good time. It was unexpected but I can't imagine how much more mainstream we are becoming each year...lol

Good times and can't wait for next year!
