I was bullied because I was big, and, as unacceptable as bullying is all around, it's even less forgiving when you are big. When there is a kid being bullied by someone twice his or hers size usually a casual observer would think something to the effect like, "why doesn't he pick on someone his own size" . When you are big, people would say to YOU "Why don't you kick his ass? You're a big guy". Generally I didn't kick his ass because I didn't believe in fighting (and still don't). The way I eventually dealt with the bullying was standing my ground as I got older (and more confident in my ability to defend myself). One day, I thought I would put an end to the bullying all together in gym class. When we did wrestling in class, I asked the teacher to match me up with the bully. I knew I would beat him, and I would put him through some pain in the process. Through the whole match I had my way with him, and at the end, he kicked me in the groin. What did the teacher do? He looked the other way as if nothing ever happened. After class, I took him back into the wrestling room, and, let's just say, I took care of business.
And trust me, I had no problems at all after that incident, TRUST ME!
and for the record, today, I stand 6'4" 245, and I did play tight end for the football team all throughout HS.
