what do you do when you are nervous about something?
an important test?
a big interview?
getting up on stage?

what kind of things do you do to make yourself not so nervous?
do you have any kind of rituals you do for good luck?
how do you prepare yourself??

Well, what makes me feel more confident about a situation is my appearence; if I look good I feel good. And breathing helps, dont forget to breathe lol!

I try to envision every possible outcome of the situation I'm nervous about and prepare accordingly.

There is no 'nervous'.

There is only 'excited' and the decision of whether or not to act on it.

Preparation is key. It builds confidence and weeds out nervousness. I also acknowledge that nervousness it part of the package. By asknowledging that it's going to be there it weakens it's effect because you are nolonger nervous about being nervous. Having fun also helps. Doesn't matter what you're doing...relish in the fact that you're living on the edge...at the point where comfort becomes a luxury.Know also that this is where one truly knows one's self and what they're made of.....regardless if it's talking to a boy/girl you like, giving a speach in front of thousands or jumping out of an airplane for the first time.

Everybody gets nervous. You just project confidence with your face, your voice and your body language, and after a couple minutes it should start to feel natural.

Fake it til you make it.

^Something along these lines, except that it's more like I'm temporarily turning off my "give-a-f*ck". I'll deliberately slow down my actions to give the appearance that whatever I'm facing is just one, tiny aspect of my day, and that I know what I'm doing. I try to project the image of "Whatever. I got this!"

its wierd but ill only get nervous like a few days before whatever it is im nervous about. when it comes to the actual event im generally quite calm, like i can switch it off.
but yeh looking good always helps me relax.

Breathe, breathe, breathe. I also imagine the worst case scenario & it's never as bad as I think it can be. Usually the idea is insane and makes me laugh about it.

I can't say I'm a nervous person; it's more healthy anticipation.

I do tend to smoke more than I already do I guess.

When you have to give a report in class or a presentation, usually at least half the people aren't paying attention anyways so on the bright side you only need to worry about half the class 🙂

Just take a deep breath, and realize that the first word is that hardest part. It only gets easier from there. Kinda like skydiving.

Honestly, I don't deal with being nervous well at all. If I'm really nervous, my stomach goes crazy. I'll lose sleep and be really quiet during the day. I have a hard time calming down.

Another suggestion, if you're caffeine-dependent, like me, is to not drink any coffee/other caffeinated beverages the day of whatever it is you have to do.

I get pissed off and destroy my chance at succeeding.

Since failure is the only option, there is nothing to be nervous about, right? 🙂

But then I pull it off anyways, working 3 times as hard as I had to because I fucked it up in the first place.

Take slow, deep breaths, and try to still your mind. Nervousness is a side-effect of your body's fight or flight mechanism... If you shift your perceptions a bit, you can change your response from "flight" to "fight." Anticipate success, and try to feel your nervousness as excitement instead. The same adrenaline surge that makes you feel nervous and antsy can also be harnessed to kick some ass. It's all in how you interpret it. 🙂

Have a couple of shots of whatever alchohol and it all goes smoothly

I just think about how insignificant said event is when compared to the rest of my life.

It's like half an hour that I've spent some time preparing for and no-one will remember it next week anyway.

When I think of it that way, I just live in the moment and go with the flow. Makes the experience more relaxing and maybe even enjoyable.

It's funny but my most nervous moment comes after the fact (after test is done or whatever that might be).....but if I do get nervous I usually end up having bad headache, and when that happens I just go to sleep...and when wake up everything is back to normal

If there's nothing I can do to change the circumstance I'm nervous about, then I'm a big fan of fake it 'til you make it. I go out there and put on my best confident face and just act like I know what I'm doing until I do or it's over. After a while of pretending I'm not nervous, I don't feel as nervous. It's a pretty sweet phenomenon.
