Is Having A Sexual Fetish Like Being Bisexual?

I know that having a sexual fetish doesn't make one bisexual in the strict sense of the word, but in the sense that a person can be torn between wanting to have intercourse, and at the same time he may want to get off on the girl's feet by tickling them, or whatever, can be seen as a type of bisexuality. The thing that made me think of this is that I had a girlfriend for five years who was very OK with my foot tickling fetish and we had all kinds of foot sex. Sometimes in the morning we would be lying in bed nude and she would raise her leg up and curl and spread her toes right in my face and say, 'What do you want this morning...some foot or some nooky?' Of course I wanted both and would tickle her feet till I couldn't stand it any longer and then we would have wild sex. Bottom line...I have always (since I acquired a taste for sex during adolescence) been torn between the two (feet and nooky) just as though I am bisexual. However, now I am just about exclusively into foot tickling, etc. It is said that bisexuals all have a preference when it gets right down to it. Mine is for sexy, ticklish feet. I seldom even think about regular sex anymore. The pendulum doesn't swing anymore, it is stuck on foot tickling. Any thoughts on this subject?

In the past, I've pondered this, because I didn't see how sexual orientation really differed from fetishes, as they both pertain to what arouses us sexually. However, I think the major difference is that evidence suggests sexual orientation is determined by genetics, and fetishes arise from exposure to the targeted object during a period of sexual development in one's youth.

If you find yourself more preoccupied with your fetish/paraphilia than you are with conventional sex, your fetish is very strong. At the same time, could it pertain to a "thirst?" Are you in a situation where sex is readily available, but without an outlet for the fetish? It can be kinda like the McRib sandwich (for me, anyway.). McDonald's releases the McRib sandwich about once a year. I also like eating 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, but I can have those any time--but the McRib, I look forward to. Around the October-December timeline, I get really excited when I see the marquee lettering that says "McRib is back!" Then, after a few McRibs, my hunger is satiated, and I'm good to go for another year. If McDonald's served the McRib all year, people would probably get sick of it, because it would be readily available, at all times. I think I went off on a tangent because I'm hungry.

Bisexuality is a sexuality aspect that is still under a lot of debate in the research community.

Picture ones gender orientation like a balance slider bar on a stereo. On one side place females, on the other males. It's been put forward that at birth your genetics will specify a 'range' on that bar. Perhaps that range will be to the far right at the female side, perhaps at the far left at the male, perhaps dead center between them, or another grouping.

Once born, and thru the sexual psychological maturation process, this 'range' is tuned by social forces, and personal experience. Firming up where exactly on the range a persons gender desires lay. A Hetro or Homosexual preference means that ones range is locked firmly on one side or the other of the range. A Bisexuals range spans the center range, and allows for attraction to both genders. Personal experience might weight it to one or the other (will tend to females, but is open to males or vice versa).

Unlike paraphilia the gender preference is probably at base, pure genetic in origin, and only tuned afterwards in life, while the paraphilia are introduced post birth in the developmental phases, and then tuned over yet more time.

Umm just do both? They are a myriad of sex positions that can allow you to have sex and tickle feet at the same. Maybe I miss understood this thread, but most fetishes are easy to mix together.

I've always associated bisexuality with one's sexual orientation rather than fetishes or kinks. So unless you enjoy tickling the feet of both men and women then I'd say that you aren't bisexual, but it's not my place to define anyone's sexuality but my own

How do you call it if people are into more than two things? The term "Bisexual" only applies to being into both genders, it has nothing to do with how many body parts or actions you are into.

Actually, I began the post by saying that having a sexual fetish doesn't make a person bisexual in the true sense of the word. Maybe the use of the word 'torn' was a bit strong. I simply meant to say that desiring both intercourse and foot sex made me fell SORT OF like a bisexual in that regard. I didn't mean to start a clinical study of actual bisexuality.

I see what you mean. It's not that you're actually bisexual but it's similar to being bisexual because you're torn between 2 desires. I have days when I'm more interested in feet/tickling than vanilla sex. Then some days average sex interests me more. So you're definitely not the only one that feels that way.

Since the gratification of either of your desires requires a female and you are male, it means you are straight, not bi. It also doubles your chances of satisfaction with said female, since either practice is enjoyable for you.

For me, it's more like wanting 100,000 different things AT ONCE (fetishes/sub-fetishes/non fetish likes). And then realizing that's impossible and going with whatever gels that time. Whatever I didn't get to, it's like, "can't wait until the roll of the dice lands me there."

This really doesn't sound too much unlike going out to eat and wanting to try everything on the menu. You try what seems best at the moment, and will get to the other stuff later. You are blessed with a lot of interests and arousal cues. This is not a bad thing.
