So my girlfriend was watching the episode the other day when she called me into the room because this guy on the show had just confessed that he had a foot fetish. At first I was like, Oh hey! This could actually be good I'd love to see how the show portrays this guy maybe we can get this out in the media and show people it can be a normal thing...well I was wrong. For anyone who has seen the show I'm sure you agree that ABC portrayed this man as a freak and a pervert. I mean the guy did come off kind of aggressive with the foot thing, but they made him look like fucking Charles Manson.

I googled it after the show so I could see if there were any discussion boards about it and I actually found a site called videogum.com that had a blog about the show. In the blog, (which I posted below), the man is referred to as the "Foot Pervert", and pretty much shit on the whole time. Personally, being a guy who likes feet I totally agreed with what he was saying but if I was going to go on that show her feet would certainly not be my first priority. I would probably glance at them here or there but I would obviously want to get to know this girl and then if her and I became really close then I would possibly introduce her to my foot fetish.

Sooooooo, after all my rambling, my question to you all is do you think that ABC made this man look like a freak? I personally think that this show will be very detrimental to the public's view on someone having a foot fetish.

yeah they did definately. well to the average person "foot guys" (im one of them) are considered freaks or perverts and that really doesnt help. i honestly think the guy exaggerated it for the show.

Its just the way that people are portrayed on reality shows that involve dating. The producers pick a "quirk" and just keep showing it over and over until you associate that with the person. Maybe his "foot fetish" was the only interesting thing about him. Its like how one contestant would be the "single dad, "or "the party guy, "or the "obsessed guy, " or "the work-a-holic". I'm sure if he was into something else, like boobs or legs or whatever, and he mentioned that, they would make him into that instead.

Bingo. Had he not made such a huge deal about it and expressed his interest THE WAY he did, it wouldn't have been an issue. But HE made himself look like a total jackass. Not the network. All of those words were his own.

But...we all know the story. If your out of the norm your gonna be looked at differently.

I think he was over the top for TV but not all that bad.

Actually they would be judged as rather perverted if it was ANY body part. It's just a bit 'worse' due to being a non-mainstream body part, but he wouldn't have looked so bad if he just passed it off as an interest and moved on.

Exactly, this guy pretty much made anyone who has a foot fetish look like a fucking freak. I talked to my girlfriend and asked, please tell me that I am nothing like that. Haha, she said no thankfully. The whole foot thing for me is really something on the side unlike some people who can't go without them. As much as I do like a girl with nice feet, I still prefer a girl who's general pretty with an awesome personality. Is anyone REALLY all that surprised? Honestly, I wasn't. The whole reason we ever even heard it was because he was freaky with it. A single comment or mention about her having pretty feet and it would have been a 2 second clip on the reunion show.

Nowhere in the near future are people with fetishes going to be looked at as "normal" in the mainstream. Probably never will be, for no other reason then ratings.

And opinions one way or another, yes it is a reality show and yes he said all those things and yes he probably said other things that didn't make the cut and yes they probably coerced him to say those things and yes yes yes... cause these shows are molded, shaped, and pretty much scripted the way they want them to be. So if he's the foot fetish guy, that's what he is. Because with 30 dudes on the show, they don't have time to get deep with each person. You're the jerk, you're the sensitive one, you're the funny guy, etc etc etc... and you're the foot fetish guy.

I'll tell you what though... whatever your opinion is, I bet you this guy will be getting mad feet once this thing is over. Then who wins, ha ha 🙂
