i'm going to agree with CQ here and say that cooltickler made quite an impression. and those kinds last. no one forgets when a mod has to kick someone out more than 50 times in one night. 😛

Selective quoting of Mimi by me here. However my feeling is that unpopular people are often just shy.

For my part if I join anything where everyone comes in new together (you know like the Army or something) I am always one of the most popular people. However if I join something as the newbie, where everyone else is established it takes me a long long time (sometimes years) to get accepted. This has been a problem theme throughout my life. However age/experience has taught me in such a situation, hang on in there and over time your face gets accepted, just like that stain on the ceiling that everyone would miss if it was cleaned.

Anyway Steph and MTP Jeff get my joint vote. Although Newcastle Uni, you might have done a lot better if your name was Manchester City (er don't bother trying to work that out, everyone else).

For me, being on here has never been for popularity, it has been for discussion and freindship. I spent many years being silent and then one day I decided to start posting a lot more. Now that my marriage has gone for 5 years and my oldest child has started school I have more time to post. I would say that the most popular are the ones that reach out to the new people while maintaining the freindships and relationships they have made. And I think there are at least 100 of you on here that deserve that.
I had someone send in a PM to me about this thread and I will not embarrass that person by saying who it was but they can claim it here, keep quiet or tell me its okay to say it, but this is what was PMed to me.
