Since I deal mainly with pics and movies. I use flash drives. You can get an 8 Gb flash drive for about 20 bucks now. Not bad really. 🙂

For more permanent solutions I back up on CD and DVD and of course an external hard drive.

Yea not bad. 🙂 I usually allows keep an eye out an amazon for them. The prices fluctuate a lot and sometimes you can get like a 4 GB drive for under 10 dollars or a 8 GB for about 15 dollars. When they are on sale like that I usually get a couple. :bouncybou

thanks Kurch. I will take a look at that. The screen went to that blue screen and they could not get it to open at BB. They said I they could send it off to their tech. place and it could cos anywhere from, starting at $289 to $2,400 to retrieve and I said bye bye. It was a lot of pics since 2006 actually, including our grandson and vacation trips on the motorcycles. I was in the process of trying to get my XP to back up the files but that is when it when to blue and stayed there. I'll see if that can do any good. I'll maybe send them a note first.
 
I now have an external drive that I put all pics on on my new one and I am going to get one for my lap top also. Thanks for the hint of hope!! 😛

Blue screens are not a good sign. The SpinRite program only runs about 90 dollars I think but its not a cure all. Maybe send them a note like you said. 🙂
 
Most of the files I'm backing up are just text files, somewhere between 100KB and 1MB. Not very big at all. 😀 😛

Yea that makes backing them up easy. One flash drive could last you a couple of lifetimes LOL. 😀
