I love how the people who are screaming "PROOF! PROOF WE NEED PROOF GIVE US PROOF NOW! I DON'T TRUST THE GUVMINT I NEED PROOF THAT OSAMA'S DEAD!!" are asking for...photos. Yeah, you can't easily fucking manipulate a photo or anything.

The fervor with which people seem to want these photos released is bloodlust, pure and simple. If that's your thing, ok. But at least admit it. Don't put on some noble face about how the "victims of 9/11 need CLOSURE! FOR AMERICA". People wanna see some famous terrorist gore, and revel in it. Which is a shame, because this type of bloodlust is part of what continually perpetuates the war machine.

One minor aside: to all you conspiracy theorists, looking down at the poor widdle sheep listening to the government. Know this: blindly disbelieving isn't any better than blindly believing. For all your rantings about the burden of proof, you've produced none of your own evidence, other than hearsay and nebulous claims. Stop it. You look as marginal and foolish as anyone demanding to see Obama's birth certificate.

Is he dead? Probably so, but no one really knows when he actually died. It could've been Sunday or it could've been 5-10 years ago. With the government hush-hush we'll never get at the truth now will we?

What reason would the government have to have killed him years ago and not tell the public? Further, why now go through all the trouble to create this charade in Pakistan to then trot out the claim that he is now dead?

There is no reason to release the pictures. Would it anger Muslim extremists? Almost certainly, though I assume they're already pretty pissed at the fact that bin Laden is waxed at all. Would releasing the pictures create a huge wave of terrorism? Most likely not. But the point is this. There's no need to further antagonize your enemy. It's a cycle that just propagates and propagates bloodshed and war. It doesn't help anything at all. If one Muslim kid sees the bin Laden photo and it pushes him over the edge to extremism, that's one too many. For no tangible gain nonetheless, other than to placate bloodthirsty tragedy addicts.

Now, let me re-iterate my two questions to you. Where is the proof that this is all a conspiracy, and what would releasing the photographs accomplish?

Sunday night at 10:30pm, Obama has a White House press conference. Osama Bin Laden has been killed by Navy Seals. Groups of people are conveniently lined up at the White House to cheer the president and the great news. I don't know how many people hang around the White House that late at night, but who knows right?

The next day it's said he was launched out to sea in accordance to Muslim traditions. Hell I need to go to some Muslim funerals because the Christian ones aren't nearly as interesting.

No pics of a dead Bin Laden but time for a DNA test? Now I've never known DNA results to come back so fast but the government has unlimited resources at its disposal so no much to argue about there.

No pics or videos of disposing a dead Bin Laden at sea and absolutely nothing proving the man died on Sunday. For all anyone knows, he could've died five years ago from his multiple health complications. Do you have any proof that refutes that? Nope, ya' don't.

Now Obama can practically walk in the White House virtually uncontested in a repeat come 2012. Now the US can end the war in Afghanistan without making a whole lot of Americans pissed because Bin Laden's dead now.

All of this over the death of the alleged mastermind of 911 that no one has yet to prove true or false. Bush said it so everyone believed it right? The announcement opens the way for the group to name a successor to bin Laden. His deputy Ayman al-Zawahri is now the most prominent figure in the group and is a very likely contender to take his place.

Are you kidding me? I was honestly hoping someone found some solid evidence; I was hoping I was wrong.

My 12 year old grand nephew could've put a statement on a "militant website" and signed Al Quaeda to it. It took two days to create said response and another three days for it to be found on the internet. That is not proof by any stretch; but if you want to believe it, go ahead.

It doesn't serve Al-Qaeda to allow a poseur or bunch of poseurs to take over, mangle, or disrupt messaging for them. I love how you sit there and say that no one has any proof, yet continue to offer up none in favour of your theory. I can equally say that there's no proof that bin Laden wasn't a double agent for the KGB, or wasn't actually a dinosaur disguised as a muslim extremist, or hell, even that he existed at all!
