Are we pathetic?

I do not believe is any stranger Than someone saying, "Wow she's sexy", or, "Damn he's hot!" The bottom line is this, how do you see yourself? All three of these answers could be correct depending on how you or someone else sees you. I do not think this is strange. I am not a looks person. I know it sounds Cliché but I see a person, not a physical immage. Same with tickling. I will take notice of that long before anything else.
I see anything mainstream or otherwise and I like it. I have been called nuts before by people I know but what I like is what I am. It's not like I am an Axe Murderer or anything. In fact, I have never dreamed of murdering an Axe. LOL. Great question to ask CL. I used to have several questions just like this swirling in my head.

I worry a lot about this, personally.

The thing is, whenever I hear about other fetishes, I think to myself "Who could ever be into that?"...and then if I happen to see a TV spot or an interview or something with someone who's into some of that other stuff, I tend find them a little pathetic...

It's terrible, I know, just pure prejudice. But it makes me feel a little pathetic whenever I consider our kink. 🙁

Totaly honest answer my friend. I know how I am percieved by some people and I am OK with that. I see your point entirely.

It's not pathetic, it's just as natural as a vanilla straight man being excited at a photo of an attractive woman's bare breasts. 😀

Burger King commercial

I saw a Burger King commercial had a lady dressed up as the statue of liberty a little girl came up and tickled her armpit and she screached with laughter im thinking why for a couple of seconds was I actually excited over this or that I visualized tied up and tickled on her feet and her armpits THE STATUE OF LIBERTY ! weird. I often wonder if any of these producers who include any reference to tickling know that it actually excites some people.

The first part, nerd. :slapfight:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK. :runningdog:

Stories, do you mean reading something that's already written or writing one? I like reading sometimes better than a pic or a video. Certainly over a video. A lot of the ones I've seen (and gotten bored five seconds into it), generate the same level of excitement I have when someone suggests I try green tea over a can of Monster and implying it'll have the same effect. Provided I connect with the story and the characters of course. Some stories leave a lot to the imagination and I tend to prefer those over ones that tell me every little detail about everything with no wiggle room.

So yeah, I prefer pics that let me play in my head. And the ones minus any tickling are usually what set me off. So. Many. Times. Have I been disappointed by a tickling pic.

Wait for another 8 years, Jo, and then notice that the response changes.

Keep in mind where yer head was, sexually, when that first awakened. It's diff now, yeah. It can keep expanding/maturing/changing.

I can discuss kink now with coworkers and lunch and not even bat an eye. Just takes getting used to the fact that we are who we are, how we are, regardless of what is "normal".

I think its just the way we are "wired"... we notice these things because we have a special interest in them... whether it be tickling or if you have a foot fetish or if you see a great ass or what have you, lol.

I get a little excited by it if I see something mainstream, but I become very uncomfortable if it is in the company of friends or family, lol. I've always tried to keep this kink private for fear of being outed in front of my friends... is that pathetic? Maybe, lol. I share it with someone I'm intimate with and all of you here... that's pretty much it. I'm comfortable having this fetish, I just don't think its necessary that everyone know about it 😀

I'm not. I dunno about the rest of you though.😛 I don't get that bothered with seeing something with tickling. It's there, eh. I don't feel like I'm somehow a perv for looking, and I don't spend a long time fapping to it or anything. Of course I'm weird, yeah, but anyone could tell you that. But weird =/= pathetic.

But hey, I know I'm not pathetic. I talked to a number of girls today, successfully flirted with a few, and even got a hug. What have YOU done today? Other than whatever you did today that is. XD

When I was younger I used to get excited about, and get more excited when a guy would ask me if I was ticklish (this is before the time I realized I really liked girls too). That's how much younger I'm talking about. Now, after going to gathering after gathering, and having way more experience not just with tickling but in the BDSM world as well, the only excitement I get is seeing people on the forum or other fetish worlds that I haven't seen in a couple months. Tickling now excites me when I know it's going to be something sexual later.

Even the most vanilla of guys will stop everything at the sight of boobs. Why? It attracts them. We are attracted to tickling. So we will stop at the sight of it.

Seems fairly normal enough to me.

However, I hate feet shots and "implied" tickling shots... so I can't really say I associate there.

I don't know if I'd use the word "pathetic", but it never fails to amaze me how much projection goes on in our little community. A single, two-second flash of someone's foot (or heaven forbid, an actual tickle) gets everyone postulating that the director must be "one of us", or the actors must be "one of us", or that there were tickling orgies on the set every time the cameras stopped rolling. It's like, hello people, tickling happens in real life, in a non-fetishized context, all the time. We don't have any kind of monopoly on the activity. Vanilla people do it, too. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I also think most "implied" tickling is just wishful thinking. Seems like anytime someone laughs on TV and someone else's hands are in the wrong place it's passed around and analyzed like the Zapruder film.

the more I expose myself (ahem)

Schwing

I guess I'm weird among us, because seeing that stuff mainstream actually makes me uncomfortable, and I deliberately try to ignore it

Me too!

I don't think it's weird or pathetic for us to notice tickling where others might not. It's only because we have an interest in it. I notice orange where other people don't. It's just because I'm unhealthily obsessed with the color. 😛 It's not pathetic - just natural 🙂

With me, I think it's number 3, and I get a personal glee out of it. With mainstream stuff, the rest of the world is completely innocent about it, yet we have a secret love for it. I always will like the odd sighting in the mainstream because of how seeing that kinda thing made me feel as a kid. I can't imagine my childhood without April O'Neil!

What about Stories? Since you work more with your imagination then you would be able to create the characters within the written material. Where as with vids and pics they are already kind of self-created and "forced" into your head.

That is exaly why i like stories!.

Let me first point out that when i saw this thread, i laughed. but yeah i would lean towards the first and second ones.

We is a very broad term...but in response to the original question, No! Not at all.

I don't think anybody who has a kink, tickling or otherwise, that does no harm to others is inherently pathetic.

Sure, it can be a pain in the arse on occasion...but hey if the worst that happens to me in life is a surprised "you're into what?" or a raised eyebrow now and again, I will have no complaints. The less time spent worrying about other people's opinions on something they are generally completely ignorant about the better 🙂

Besides...tickling can be great foreplay and with a bit of confidence and effort, I think most people can make being a kinky bastardo a liberating and positive asset rather than something to feel uncomfortable about 😀

Do you think it's kind of dumb that we get excited about seeing a foot shot or better yet a tickling or "implied tickling" scene or image in movies/mags or books?

Or is it just reassuring that there are signs out there that it's OK and thus seemingly 'normal' which helps us feel more 'normal' about our fetish?

Orrrrrrrrrrrrr is it just natural for us to note these things since a lot of us have been doing this since we were young? That it's almost second nature.

Without reading all the responses....

I don't think it's dumb. I like seeing female feet and watching and participating in tickling. It's what I like, so no, it's certainly not stupid.

That being said, I'm not to the point where I think it's normal enough to bring up in conversation or to be totally "out" with what I like. While out at the bar, I'd never say, "hey, check out the feet on her". Face, Boobs, butt, sure, but not feet.

As far it being natural, yeah, it is natural to me. I'm a "lifer" and have been into feet and tickling as long as I can remember.

I reckon we tend to pay more attention to tickling just because we're "wired" (as you might say) to take an interest in it.
I wouldn't call it pathetic, however I would consider it slightly obsessive (like my friend who would see objects and the first thing he would wonder is if he could juggle them). But then, isn't obsession one of the symptoms of a fetish?

One thing I've noticed, is that the more I expose myself (ahem) to tickling fetishism, and in particular the realisation that others are into what I'm into, has curbed my "excitement" about it somewhat. Not that I don't get interested by it, but it doesn't necessarily send my blood racing or make my knob stand to attention.

Is this more because you're used to it now, or has it just become part of your 'blood and nature?'

Take an example here:

Ive been doing the design thing for a few years now... You get so used to doing things behind the scenes that when you're out amongst the general populace, you may seem weird pointing out things that may seem mundane or downright stupid to other people.

I could walk through a grocery store and call out advertisement fonts... Or notice that the spacing between the words 'Pick' and 'Save' is a little too short (from a design standpoint, the term is 'kerning.')

Admittedly, there have been times in which Ive seen and person and wondered, 'I wonder how ticklish they are.' I think this is part of human nature.

Just remember, curiosity has a habit of killing the feline 😉

its been said once so I'll say it again, at least we are not pooping on people chest!

Well, I think we have the least dangerous fetish of all. This is our sexually oriented site, just like everyone else has their sexually oriented sites, shit fetishes, granny fetishes, and of course the people who arrogantly consider themselves to be more normal than we are have their hardcore porn sites with women eating wedding cake out of other women's pussies. And pictures of cocks being sucked. There's something warmer and more charming about our fetish, I think.

Perfectly normal, and absolutely NOT dumb. No different (as many folks probably already pointed out) than getting excited seeing a nice ass, or breasts or the like. If you're a foot person, than that's YOUR thing, so when you see feet, that's your response. Sure it may not be as mainstream/accepted as other desires/interests/whatever, but who cares, because it's YOURS. Only thing that matters.

That's not pathetic at all; if anything it's fuggin' awesome. You know how "normal" people, when they're teenagers, will be sitting watching telly with their granny when suddenly a documentary comes on depicting two wild animals shagging each other's arses? See how "normal" people find that horrendously awkward? We don't have that problem.

I think it can be inferred from this lack of adolescent hormonal awkwardness that fetishists are not only NOT pathetic, but are in fact BETTER than normal people. I know I am. I'm brilliant, me.
